Disappointing

Great sound, but "presets" don't allow you to play offline like I foolishly assumed. I bought it for my art studio with no wifi. It's useless to me. Waste of money.

Thank you for the review. We appreciate the feedback. The presets on the SoundTouch 20 III allow you to play audio from online streaming sources, internet radio, and music stored on your computer so they do require an internet connection to work. However, you could connect via an ethernet cable if WiFi is not available and access those sources that way. There are also other ways to connect to the system, including wirelessly via Bluetooth from a source such as your smartphone, tablet, or computer or by using the 3.5mm AUX input and connecting with a wire.

Missing one feature

I own 3 Sound Touch 20, System lll's (kitchen, home office & bathroom - yes, I said bathroom) plus a wave radio (dining room) & 5.1 surround system in the kitchen. Can you tell I own a recording studio? I originally purchased the Wave Radio to use as a clock radio, but it proved to large for the night stand (w/the lamp and all) so it now lives in the dining room. THEY ALL SOUND GREAT!!! I can control all of the ST 20's from any of my computers, tablets, and android phones. I've just added a new sun room to the back of the house facing the lake and will be buying 2 more Sound Touch systems (need one for the dock, too) but have one complaint. With the introduction of the Sound Touch 10, why couldn't you add an alarm clock? This new product is the perfect platform for such, and I'd buy one for each of my 4 bedrooms. I'm very disappointed in Bose for this omission, and thus the 4 star review. Not a comment on the quality of Bose product, but on the company's lack of foresight. The shareholders are the losers, as I'm sure this product would sell.

A little disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife bought this for me for Fathers Day to upgrade the older but awesome Bose speaker we already had.While the sound quality is excellent as all the other products are and the ease of set up was a bonus,was a little disappointed that it is not portable and has to be plugged in to use it.The older module I have is portable and I am able to take it to the beach and fire pit and listen for hours.So hardly an upgrade in my opinion.Unless I am missing something.

Great Product Excellent sound but lousy App

5/5 stars for SoundTouch 20 iii. Perfect for my apartment living room. Really loud and rich sound. Bass is just enough not overpowering. Clear Treble. But 3/5 stars for the App. No google play music or Spotify Free (only Spotify premium). Please add Rewind & Fast-Forward (in the app) while playing Stored Music from Nas/ iTunes/ MP music library. Also Shuffle option for playlists (and Play all) and on the fly Queue options for stored music that will enable us to pick songs on the fly (not from any playlist) and queue those hand picked songs after the current one. These are really basic features any music app has.

I miss Airplay

I bought a SoundTouch® 10 Series III long time ago and then I discovered there was not Airplay. With disappointment I returned the device however after a bit I decided to give it a try again.
As of today I own the SoundTouch® 20 Series III and Series II and the SoundTouch® 30 Series II. The Bluetooth is light years far away from AriPlay and if I could I would return the Series III and buy another Series II. I simply don't like the fact that I have to pair or manually connect to it. I have many devices (MacBook Pro etc) and some of them connect automatically and some not. Maybe there is a way to setup this BT better however this bugs me enough that I hardly use the BT. The AirPlay is just better for the devices that I have.
Beside this I really like the device and the fact I don't need my phone to switch channel (huge and appreciated differentiator). It's a real shame they haven't extended the functionalities (BT) instead of taking them out (AirPlay).

SoundTouch app

Very poor update. Prior app was very functional and easy to use and it worked. Now It seems to need to search for the speaker almost every day when I try to use my phone or iPad. Keep it simple stupid

We're loving it!

We bought the SoundTouch 20 for Christmas and we're really loving it. Just a pleasure to listen to. We're totally happy and would highly recommend it. Not a fault, but some days I wonder if it could have a tiny bit more treble (or a treble control - for say 1-2% more treble).
The product is really well put together too.
The one thing I was a bit disappointed with is the interface to Deezer. I have the Deezer family option with multiple profiles for all family members, but the SoundTouch App doesn't recognize that and just treats it as one account. Also, it doesn't recognize that the Deezer app is already on your device with all your music already downloaded to that device, so you always have to stream unless you use Bluetooth.
No question, Soundtouch has been well thought out though, with the ability to control the device from the app even when using someone else's Bluetooth! The above issues may well be limitations brought about from Deezer's side and not Bose though - don't know.
It would also be nice to be able to set up a stereo pair of these as you can with the SoundTouch 10.
Hopefully all taken as constructive criticism. Looking forward to being able to get another one!

Nice System - suggestions

Have one sound wave, one twenty, one thirty, one mobile (no longer made), two tens, and one remote for my stereo. These soundtouch speakers are great sounding and easy to control. App needs to have on/off timer for morning and night time listening. Need to get with the times and have it connect with Amazon Alexa.
