It does it all

I'm ecstatic to say that I'm very happy with my purchase of the new Note 5! It does it all and then some. Only thing is that it would be nice to have interchangeable SD card and longer battery life. Tends to run out of juice pretty quick, other than that I'm a very happy camper!!
Pros: all of the above
Cons: battery life, no sd slot
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can operate even with very limited technical skills

I switched from a 20+ year flip phone to the Galaxy Note 5 two weeks ago. Two of my sisters had recommended this phone to me and all of the special functions that they described intrigued and led me to purchase the Note 5. I have been delighted with all of the special features that this phone can perform and especially delighted that I have been able to access them with minimal help even with my limited tech knowledge. The free in house class that Samsung sponsors was excellent and I plan on signing up up for more classes in order to learn all of the awesome features that this phone is capable of performing.
Pros: Realistic color, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight, can operate with limited tech knowedge
I would recommend this to a friend!

First Android Phone Since G1
on January 4, 2016

This is the first Android phone I've purchased since owning the G1 many years ago. The Android platform has grown!! The stuff you can do with this phone is incredible. The camera functionalities (and downloadable functionalities) alone are worth the price. I'm just now getting into the "customization" of Android and slowly making my way through tutorial videos. It's a learning process, but everything worth doing usually is.
I purchased this phone for one reason and one reason only - GEAR VR. First to market grabs my wallet. The GearVR is incredible and I cannot WAIT to see what comes next from developers, Samsung, and Oculus.
My only complaint about this phone is, coincidentally, the same thing that I disliked about my G1 - pre-installed apps that I don't care about or even know what they do. I still don't know why [my carrier] wants me to use the Nascar App...or why I need app icons (that are really just links to the store) in my app library. It creates a convoluted experience that is frustrating to even just get it to "normal" (being: no bloatware, unwanted apps, weird settings, etc.). I wish that a company (maybe Samsung) could start using their leverage in the industry (as a leader) to start creating streamlined experiences from the box that makes a phone feel "fresh" and "unused" rather than cluttered. Maybe one day this will be fixed!
Lastly - the phone is slippery! Seriously, the entire thing is glass and slips around off fabric, my hands, dashboards, etc. It's crazy how there isn't a place I can put my hand that doesn't either cramp or mess up functionality (like hitting the "back" or power button on accident). But, I got a case and that issue seems to be no longer a problem.
Pros: Bright display, camera, best gearvr experience
Cons: bloatware

Best Large Smartphone!
on January 5, 2016

After days of researching on the best LARGE smartphone, I found the answer: Note 5.
These are the selling points for me:
1. Screen/Size
I wanted a large smartphone to be used as a car stereo replacement. I usually mount my smartphone in my car and play my music off of it and also for GPS. A bigger smartphone would look a lot better displaying music and a GPS. The Note 5 was one of the biggest smartphone and could still fit in my pocket.
2. S Pen (Stylus Integration)
The thing that makes the note series so special is the inclusion of a stylus. It brings more features to your average smartphone. Taking notes, drawing, picture editing, and so much more can be done with the S Pen. The different amount of pressure the S Pen can produce is also very cool when it comes to drawing and this cannot be produced from an ordinary stylus (From what I read). Being able to pull a stylus out of my phone is a cool feature that impresses everyone that sees it.
3. Finger Print Scanner
No more passwords and drawing lines to unlock your phone. The home key now also a finger print scanner is incredible convenient to help you quickly access your phone. Especially since the phone is huge, the finger print scanner allows you to be able to access your phone with one hand and not worry about typing or reaching the other side of the screen for drawing a security lock. The finger print scanner works fairly well. You just have to remember to scan multiple parts of the finger you desire to use to unlock your phone. And even better is the ability to save multiple finger print scans so any of your fingers can be used to unlock your phone. Amazing time saver!
4. Performance
The phone works flawlessly. No lag, no freezing, no slow down. The Note 5 is a beast! The work load this thing can take and produce is tremendous. This phone is a powerhouse!
5. Battery/Charging
The biggest thing I was worried about was the battery life. However, I found the Note 5's battery was more than enough to get through a day (Texting, Facebook, Youtube, Emails, Web Browsing). If you play a lot of games, the battery might not last you a whole day. However, do not fear. The crazy super fast charging will get the phone to 100% before you even realize it. That is one thing I love about this phone, the wired charging charges up the phone super quick it almost seem ridiculous. The battery may not be the best, but I sure would say the charging is. Good battery and excellent charging capability.
6. Camera
The Note 5 has superb camera, especially the front facing camera. It's crazy how much detail the front facing camera can capture. You can literally see your pores and smaller details. It is almost scary detailed. Overall, Samsung is known to have very good cameras on the Note series and so not much surprise. Still, the camera on the Note 5 is one of the best!
The only cons would be the debatable downgrades from the older model (Note 4): Removable battery and expandable storage. But that isn't a problem if you're just using your phone for casual use. If you take a lot of pictures, videos, or a ton of gaming and streaming, Note 4 would be the better choice.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight, integrated stylus
Cons: minor: a few downgrades from last model.
