Great functionality with the large screen!

I love this phone! The S Pen comes in handy a lot. I love that I can do one big screenshot instead of having to take 5 and piece them together or switch back and forth. I also like how just by removing the S Pen when the screen is off it automatically opens the note pad for me.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great overall phone / phablet

This is the first Samsung phone I've had and so far I really, really like it. I thought the phablet style phone might be too large, but for me, it's actually perfect. I love using the S Pen and the overall performance of the phone is great. From a design standpoint, I do think it kinda looks like an iPhone 6+, but it does feel better in my hand (i.e. I don't feel like I'm going to drop it ever 2 seconds). I wish there were more color options aside from black or white, but that's ok. Overall, it's a great phone for those of you who like the larger, phablet type.
Pros: s pen
Cons: limited color options
I would recommend this to a friend!

Galaxy Note 5 - Shiny Happy People

After owning the Galaxy Note 5 for several weeks, it has become clear to me that this device is without a doubt one of the best devices I've ever used.
The battery, even though it is not removable, is quite able to carry my usage through an entire work day with time to spare.
I am employed in the IT field and frequently I am doing several things at once where it is required to use the screen in full sunlight, outdoors. The screen at full brightness makes it easy for me to read without looking for a shady spot. I sure wish that my laptop computer display had the same amount of brightness and clarity!
While I was never a user of a pen on a tablet before, it has become clear how valuable the S-Pen is. Jotting a note or the ability to quickly draw a small diagram and send that to someone, in a hurry, and it has become a fun thing to do! I'm sure there are other uses for the S-Pen - so I will be looking for some on-line tips, very soon.
After a very recent vacation, I was browsing through some of the pictures I took. I was truly amazed at the resolution of the most simple of photographs. When I started to look at the different modes (slow motion, macro, etc.) that the camera can shoot images, I found some of the downloadable modes. Animated GIF? No Problem! Love the camera - Love the Samsung software!
So, what are the downsides to owning the Galaxy Note 5?
The sound. The speaker is small and singular. No stereo image if you are looking for great sound. However, it DOES point out of the bottom, so when I am on a phone call with speakerphone, I can slip the phone into my shirt pocket with the bottom end facing up and manage to hear VERY well. Sadly, if you turn the volume up too far, the callers voice can tend to crackle.
The cost. The Galaxy Note 5 is rather expensive at the outset. I believe it was nearly twice the cost of the Galaxy S III when I purchased that phone. Larger screen, S-Pen, better camera, brighter display, 4 times the memory and a much faster processor. I'm not really suffering any 'Buyers remorse'.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Durable, s-pen
Cons: singular speaker

The note 5 is so much easier to navigate. The pictures are clearer. I love that I can be on Facebook and get a call and it shows on the phone. I can write a note On the blank screen
and have to be sent to my notes. It's much faster and doesn't takes long time to charge.I had a note 2 a fit was very slow. This is a great upgrade from the note2. I will always buy samsung phones
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight

Great phone

The Galaxy Note 5 is my first Android based phone, so my comparisons are based on other phones and not the Galaxy Note 4.
First the best features:
Not once has my phone locked up on me. This phone has shown no signs of slowing down and the ability to close all open apps at once is a big plus towards that statistic. The amount of apps that comes with the phone by default is impressive. Setup is quite easy with no issues at all. The phones calling is extremely clear and I have had no one complain about hearing me. One of the better features is Mirrorcast that allows you to stream to a wireless TV adapter. I have used it with three different adapters and found that, other than a slight lag in the audio, it performs without any issues. One of the best and less spoken of feature is the Pen. Worth noting, the pen has a texture on the tip that makes it ever so lightly grab the screen, giving it a real feel of leaving ink on paper. I love the pen itself. I went on a business trip and was able to use my phone for all my notes instead of my laptop or tablet which allowed me to review them while waiting for transportation, just as easily as I would check my email. The Note 5 also has a feature that disables hand touching during the use of the pen. This allows you to use the pen more naturally, resting your palm on the tablet size display as you write (very cool). Another cool and less spoken of feature is the ability to shrink the display to about 1/3 of the size by triple tapping the main button. This allows you to better use the phone with one hand.
Now what I don’t like:
The notification screen could be better. It only shows you the email subject and first line of an email if you have only one unread email. I have as many as 100 emails a day and the ability to have a quick view to determine their importance is important to me. You can stretch the notifications, but it only shows very limited information and you cannot set it to display stretched by default. The only other issue is a personal one. I do a lot of streaming but do not require high definition. Other phones in the past allowed me to better control my data rate which in turn forced the streams to run at a lower bandwidth. The Note 5 will stream as fast as the streaming service will send it, giving you great HD video, but can drain your monthly bandwidth within a day (and I’m on the 12 GB plan). Also you must pay attention to your wireless icon to insure that your phone is using wireless and not your data. The icons a very small.
Bottom line:
I prefer this to all other phones due to its variety of apps, note taking ability, big screen, PEN, and quality of calls. I prefer the Note 5 to most any phone due to its note taking ability. And I would recommend this phone for anyone who uses a phone for business.
Worth noting, don’t lose the pen (it does have an alarm if the pen moves too far from the phone). Also the charger that comes with it takes a fraction of the time to fully charge the phone, so don’t leave it in the box thinking you can use one you already have.
I hope this helps.
Pros: Bright display
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone!

Was very hesitant to get this phone at first because it doesn't have a removable battery or external memory available. I gave the note 5 a shot and I'm very glad I did! I was a fair price; it even lowered my phone bill. It's very fast and smooth running. No software issues...aka keyboard not working after an update like the Samsung Galaxy 4 was experiencing. All out amazing phone, great camera and sound. It's like my mini laptop!
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight
