Cyber Terrorism

I've had the phone a couple of weeks and loaded a lot of exciting options I have not had access to on a phone or tablet before. I was delighted with the MS Office apps and had a Cloud drive with MS Office 365. The most exciting part was the flight apps that took a couple of days to load and set up but are very powerful and easy to use. I have been really excited about everything I can do with the note 5 and how easy it is to use until yesterday morning at about 0930 when I was preparing to launch on a Civil Air Patrol Transport mission. I need the phone to obtain flight releases. transponder codes, and clearances. The Note 5 with WingX and Avare installed provides and has provided an excellent (fortunately not the only) presentations of maps, approach charts, and taxi charts. I have used it before with very good results and find it easier to use in a small cockpit then the very large Ipad with a remote GPS receiver. (glad I brought the Ipad on this flight) I had all my route planning loaded and a mount I could use in the aircraft and had received my release when the phone decided to reinstall the operating system. I don't remember any warning but may have responded to one. The phone became disabled and remained that way for what seemed like an eternity the began asking for multiple email addresses and passwords and rejecting the replies and changed at least on password. All this while I was functioning a flight instructor and launching on a flight where I was gong to show off the power of my new Phablet. The email that I got from gmail latter said I changed my metrocast password used on the gmail account. I don't know what that could possibly mean. I don't know what the password was or what it was changed to but I do know they wouldn't accept my default and then wouldn't let me change to it because it's been used before. When his was done the phone could not restart because it didn't have a wifi connection. It didn't have one when this started more than an hour before either. I wonder if I was being charged for data while all this was going on. And when I landed and tried again the phone started without a wife connection. But Nothing was left . WingX, Avare, and all my other apps where gone. the Contact list was back but disorganized to first names alphabetically. Last night I started reloading WingX and Avare data. Nothing else has been restored yet. It's scary because I will always wonder when the next cyber attack is coming. Why did we do this? Why was there no warning? Why was there no opportunity to gather the information you want? What is the gmail cloud, how much does it cost, how do I access it and would it have saved all the apps and files you deleted during this attack? Could something this massive and destructive be scheduled and prepared for and done at home with a wifi connection?
Pros: Bright display
Cons: cyber attacks

I Have always owned Samsung phones be it the Galaxy Saturday or the Note, I liked the Note 3 a lot so when the chance to upgrade came around I jumped on it only to find my upgrade turned out to be a down grade. #1 option I use and need is the ability to be on a call and use the Internet the Galaxy Note 5 will not allow me to do so. Also when driving I can not use my Navigation apps at the same time as I am talking on the phone. Seems I am stuck with this for 2 years unless I pay out of pocket for a different phone. Maybe it's time to give The IPhone a try.
Pros: Lightweight, familiar operating system
Cons: Did not meet expectations, can't talk and use apps or web
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The battery life is horrible. The lack of an SD card come on not an iPhone. The features aren't really that much different than my note 3. I wish I did got the LG similar phone. This review makes me sad cuz I have samsungs for many years

If theyou combined the note 7 speed and expandable storage and waterproof with the edgeless design of the Note 5 it would be my dream phone. I love this design but those note 7 features are a must.
Very disappointed in the quality of this phone. This is a replacement phone and still has the same problems as the original one.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality, freezes a lot
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't like that I can't send a text while on a call, and sometimes when on a call cannot leave the call screen to do other actions. Cannot tell in settings when something is set to on or off. Overall not a bad device but I've had better!
