Most expensive doorstops ever

I've had a pair of these speakers for over a year now. I have wasted an incredible amount of time on these things. They sound great in the store, but I can't really tell what they sound like at home, since they are totally unreliable. My home network runs at 175mbps in every room, yet the speakers won't connect reliably. If they connect, they won't pair. If they pair, they fade or only play one channel. After two months in service, one quit working altogether and had to be returned. You can only use Soundtouch 10 speakers with Bose proprietary software, which is bloody awful on Apple equipment running the most up to date Mac OS and iOS versions. If you buy these speakers, expect endless frustration.

Great Sound, App could use work!

Just recently purchased this speaker and Bose made the claim that it was louder than any other speaker in the price range, this appears to be true. My girlfriend and I could not be happier with how this speaker handles the high and mid tones. With a system this small there is obviously a slightly weaker bass. But holds it's own in most songs and volumes.

nice system, but has compatibility limitations
on January 4, 2016

This device us not compatible wit many networks. The network in my office, for example, is configured such that devices on the network cannot "see" each other. To function properly, however, the app not only needs to be running on the same network as the Bose system but it also needs to see the device on the network. The only work around for this type of network is to set or change the stations on another network. in my case, this means that I need to bring it home whenever I want to change my presets or play a station that is not a preset. This is very annoying and it's hard to see why this is necessary. The Bose technical support confirmed this limitation, and suggested that it may not be the right product for me given my network. I gave it a 4 because otherwise it is a great little system.

Disappointed, no more Airplay!

I was hoping to expand my current system that includes stereos connected to Apple TV that work with Airplay. My Soundtouch 20 works great with it so I can cover rooms not reached by the stereo in the house with fully synchronized music throughout the house. Without Airplay my new 10 will not synchronize with the system playing through iTunes. Sorry to say since I bought my Soundtouch 20 I missed that Bose has now discontinued Airplay support. It was an important feature that others should be aware no longer works. It frankly makes no sense to me.

Hello there,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate the feedback. While the new systems no longer support AirPlay they do support Bluetooth and allow you to rebroadcast that Bluetooth audio to all of your other SoundTouch speakers, whether they support Bluetooth or not. Bluetooth allows many more devices to connect to the systems and will greatly increase the amount of audio sources you can listen to through the SoundTouch products. If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 800-380-4831 and we would be happy to help.

What happened to internet radio?

With the last software update Bose eliminated the internet radio function from the Soundtouch 10, rendering my radio useless. It was one of the key features for which I bought this radio. It will be the last Bose radio I buy.

Great sound -- connectivity could use work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bose does a great job of delivering rich sound in small packages. I have the SoundTouch 10, 20 and sound bar for the TV. All deliver great sound. The preset keys provided a quick and easy method to access and play music which was one of the elements that made the decision to purchase the system as a whole. The drawback is on the connectivity. Setting the system up is easy, but it takes repeated setups to the wireless network due to the speakers losing the network. Support doesn't have an answer. The rating is purely a result of the issues around connectivity.
