Grateful for a great CD player

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Bose Wave CD/radio for many years and gave it to a friend. Did not know I would miss it so much. I am so grateful that I could still lay hands on a new one, especially with the way CDs are being phased out. The sound is equal to full audio component systems.

CD problem

I have had many Bose products back to the speaker system which had to be placed perfectly distanced from the back wall and each other (fantastic). I have a problem with the Wave IV radio in that it will not "read" the CD and discharges it. I would recommend Bose products but with a caution that the CD part appears to have a limited life.

Lack of full control panel is a deal-breaker

Tried one of these for two weeks and ended up returning it. My wife finds the requirement to use a remote control to set clock and alarm and so forth to be intolerable. Since my Wave Radio 1 units (we have two) are no longer serviced by Bose, they were repaired by an independent shop, and we still have our control panel on the units. One of the remotes survives after 22 years. The other is lost, but if we really wanted one replacements are available.
I'd like to upgrade, but without the control panel on the unit, it isn't happening. While I use and enjoy other Bose products, this poor design prevents me from recommending the Wave Radio IV. Honestly, even my QC headset that travels with me doesn't appear to be as well built as the original one I owned.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve had a Bose for years snd just upgraded to a new Wave Music System IV. The sound is really exceptional and the radio reception is excellent, even without the plugin FM antenna. I do really wish that Bose would provide a Bluetooth option to connect this system to play music from other sources
