Excellent sound for the size

I bought this for my clock radio and alarm clock. I do think it is a bit over priced. But love the SoundTouch system capabilities. Has great sound from a very small unit. I have 4 SoundTouch devices and love the ability to play all at once. Or the ability to choose what you hear where. I have everything except the 10 and 20 systems. The more you have the more you want. All excellent products.

Poor reliability

Bought optional three disc player only lasted 7 months before discs would not eject and jam in player.

I'm sorry to hear that the discs will not eject from your system. Let's see what I can suggest for you!
I would recommend resetting the system. You can do this by unplugging the system for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. This should eject your discs for you.

Worthy improvements worth purchasing

For those reluctant to make the purchase, I encourage you to do so. My circa 2005 Platinum white BWMS operated flawlessly but the AM reception was problematic and worsened over time even with an AM Terk antenna. I've owned the IV now for 7 months now and LOVE It. Pros:
Bluetooth integration, Pandora, all my overnight Internet AM talk radio stations around the country a new world for me. No more rotating the wave for better am reception!
Espresso color is native plastic not spray painted, I love the finish, it blends in with my existing electronic components and will never yellow up over time like the Platinum white did with age. Smooth to the touch and no ugly horizontal lines to see speaker drivers, now a nice mesh design!
Remote control was substantially improved, the tactile "button travel" is vastly easier to pressure, no more finger fatigue, with the former bubble time button and the rubberized coating gives it a premium build quality.
Legendary Wave guide technology has not changed with IV, great room filling sound.
Easy management of all your music library on Bose App, I never use my CD player any longer with all the choices and device choices, laptop, tablet and smartphone.
Cons: Would like to see Spotify free service added to Bose App, Pandora free has a lot of ads. I realize customers can pay for both subscriptions and avoid ads but having a choice would be better particularly with all the interrupted ads, listeners need to listen to before proceeding.
I would like Bose engineers to add back the timer 1 minute fading volume, vs abruptly shutting off, it was a staple the BWMS for years and many customer still do like to go to bed listening, it was a nice warning signal for the last 60 seconds to hit the sleep button again for more listening. Optionally, due to this feature being removed from IV, I think Bose engineers should have increased the minute sleep timer from a max of 90 to 120 minutes.
On balance, The Bose Wave IV is worth every penny for the sound quality and now wireless music integration for multiple devices.

High Quality , Great Features

Excellent Sound system , all I need for Audio , Great Sound Quality (Rich , Clear and high sound while speaker is small) , I like It , I thanks Bose for this Magnificent Sound touch , it is also easy to use , easy to pair smart phones , tablets and I pad , Great design , Hope in future to provide system with EQ in different modes

My system won't hold the programing

I bought this speaker today and will return it tomorrow. The instructions lead me down a dead end. I had to go to YouTube for instructions. One video had me download the software to my computer. That didn't work. After looking at 5 more YouTube reviewers, I finally found one that instructed me to search for the Bose speaker in my Wi-Fi settings on my phone. After 2 hours I finally got it setup. The sound quality is superb. But. The volume is is pathetic. Im 57 but I still like my music loud. If I have a get together, I want my guests to be able to hear the music. My little Bose Soundlink gets more volume that this system. Step up Bose. Don't rely on your former grandeur to keep you an industry leader. Maintain the quality you are known for. There are brands out there with food sound quality AND volume.
