I bought this product over a year ago. I was very happy with it as the quality is very good. However, the app that I use on my iPad to connect and control the SoundTouch is awful. At some point, someone thought it was a good idea to change the interface on the app, as well as the look of the app. It has been all terrible ever since.
The new app does not stay linked with my SoundTouch. I have to reinstall the connection almost every single time I use it and even then I'm not always able to reinstall it. Another thing that is just downright annoying is that I need to switch around screens to be able to adjust the volume and stations that I want to listen to. It used to not be like that on the old app. I have complained to Bose about this problem with their new app. It's terrible. I wish they would go back to the one that used to use before the current one.

My 20 year old Wave

Sounds great. Listening to Crosby Stills and Nash first album as I write this. Cranked up, sounds fantastic.
Friends that come over are amazed. They typically look around the room for more speakers. They are amazed that it all comes out of that little box.
I'm considering a new one to integrate with online services, will be hard to replace my old friend.

Wave® SoundTouch® music system IV

Purchased the wave touch IV music system on 1/9/16 and returned it on 1/10/16. The setup and operation were reasonably simple. The deal was broken in quality of sound. There were no recognizable sounds below 110 hz. Even with the single low frequency adjustment the unit was a real disappointment as the mids and highs 'blarred' with increased volume settings. What happened to the 'old school' room filling, awesome Bose sound?

Sound Quality Lacking

Purchased the original version but was dissatisfied with the lack of treble in the sound. There are no equalizer controls and for my listening preference this unit does not cut it. This is amazing to me because I own two bose headsets, bluetooth mini speaker, and two aviation headsets. All these units have excellent sound color and clarity. This unit does not.

Thank you for the review. It is always a please to get feedback from a loyal Bose customer such as yourself. Great sound is the cornerstone of all of our products, so we are sorry to hear that you are not getting that from your Wave SoundTouch IV system like you are from all of your other Bose products. You should be getting excellent sound from all of them, including the Wave SoundTouch IV and we would like to help you with that.

One thing to try that may help with the lack of treble is to turn down the bass in the Wave SoundTouch IV. To do that, follow these steps:

Press and hold Alarm Setup (Menu) until "-SETUP MENU-" appears on the system display
Press Tune/MP3 > 3 times until "BASS-" displays
Press Time – or Time + to select "NORMAL" or "REDUCED"
Press Alarm Setup (Menu) to exit the menu or wait 10 seconds for the setup menu to automatically exit

Reducing the bass can make the treble more apparent which may help make the Wave SoundTouch IV play more to your liking.

Another thing that may help is to move the system further from a wall or corner. Placing the system close to a wall or corner can actually increase the bass.

If the above suggestions do not work, it might be the Wave system itself. Great Investment, Great Sound!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I waited FOREVER to convince myself as to WHY, I would EVER spend this much money for music! Well......when you love music.....YOU LOVE MUSIC! The sound that comes from this system is WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!! you can hear every music instrument in every song! LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! Buy it, you won't regret it!

Wonderful sound and easy set-up!

Just bought the SoundTouch music system last night and did the set-up this morning. I am not particularly techy but the set-up worked like a charm! Takes a bit of time to load the SoundTouch app on the various devices (iPhone 5, iPad, home computer, laptop, etc.) that you will use to control the device, but nothing difficult about it. Lots of prompts and information that guided me through the process.I have the system linked to my iTunes music, SiriusXM, Pandora and IHeart radio, to name a few. The system is playing right now and the sound is great. Would highly recommend!

I've wanted a Bose system for over a decade and finally received one for my 40th birthday. It's just as awesome as I remember when I first heard music flowing from its speakers at the home of my best friend's parents. The sound is crystal clear!
