[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to be able to stream my Apple Music ..... until I found out I couldn’t. The sound is great for my Reiki Studio and playing CDs but I am disappointed that I can’t use it in the fullness I was hoping. Crossing fingers I will possibly be able to use it in the future?

This is my second soundtouch system and it's better than the first one (a soundtouch 20). Of course the sound is everything you would expect from Bose but the features on this system are spectacular. i use the soundtouch software mainly and control both systems with the app. The Bluetooth feature and the availability of a CD player is a bonus. My wife hates any light at night and I discovered you can set the display to be completely dimed when the lights go off and goes back to normal when they come on. Set up was fast and easy and works well with the Soundtouch software. My only complaint would be the software could be a little more user friendly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was first exposed to the unbelievable crisp and clear sound output of a Bose wave radio when I visited a friend's home over 15 years ago. I could not believe where this big sounding music was originating from as they had no stereo component systems. After inquiring with my friend, he said it was a Bose wave radio/CD system. Since then, I've always wanted a Bose wave system, but never quite got around to owning one. After coming across the latest SoundTouch wave IV version on sale, I finally bit the bullet and purchased one. Unboxing the system brought back fond memories of that iconic shape and listening to a couple of songs, the sound is just as crisp and clear as I remembered. The sound is well-balanced with good bass, although some may criticize it for not having more. It depends on how much bass was actually recorded in the original tract. The wi-fi set up was a little frustrating at first, but after establishing connection, it never had any hiccups. I am able to stream my Amazon music or play music from my smart phone via bluetooth. Along with Amazon music, other online music services (e.g. Pandora, Spotify, Sirius XM, iHeartRadio, etc.) can also be set up as presets for easy access. The power cord serves as the radio antenna, and so far, the radio stations I listen to are clear without any audible static interference. I also have many music CDs that I am now looking forward to listening to again. For those who are not tech or computer inclined, an aux port is available to connect a music player or smart phone to play music wired. Eventually, I plan to purchase other SoundTouch speakers to have the option of playing the same music simultaneously in other rooms or even outdoors via the SoundTouch app. I love the touch on/off feature but wish the remote control had glow-in-the-dark buttons. I also need to remember to put it at the same spot every time to prevent losing it. I chose the Espresso as it blended well with my matte black entertainment center. I've had the SoundTouch wave system IV now for a week and love it and I'm looking forward to many years of listening to great music/sound. I'm glad to finally own a wave music system which now has even more play options than before. I highly recommend it.

Pricey, but most everything I was looking for...

I wanted FM radio, WiFi for Pandora & iHeart radio, and Bluetooth, and a reputable brand. This unit (Wave SoundTouch music system IV) had it all. I didn't really want/need the CD player, but I guess it doesn't hurt to have it. Less expensive products seemed to lack one or another of my desired features, so I bit the bullet and splurged on the Bose.
Set up was mostly intuitive, but I needed to consult the manual for a couple of things. The manual is well written and organized. A software update for the unit, loading the app on my phone, entering account info for services and setting up pre-sets took about an hour.
I compared sound quality to the radio I was replacing. To my ear, the Bose does sound significantly better than the old name-brand boombox. In an effort to make sure this wasn't just cognitive dissonance, I didn't tell the wife about the new radio. She walked through the room, stopped, looked around, said "wow, that sounds really good. Where is that coming from?" Sound is very good with both music (I listen to '90s alternative and big band standards for most part) and talk radio. Maybe a touch too much bass, but one does need to rattle the rafters every now and then. I've only had the volume up to 66 (out of 99), and it is plenty loud for my space (~24' x 18' room with cathedral ceiling).
The lack of controls on the unit is somewhat troubling. If I were planning to use this as an alarm clock, I think I would be more comfortable with buttons. So far, however, the controls are working out okay for my uses. I wish the remote was RF instead of IR, as having to aim the remote at the unit is annoying. The phone app does not control AM/FM selections, at least not that I've figured out. If it did, that would solve this issue for me. Maybe the App writers can work on that....
A touchscreen display - instead of the LED text - would be a great upgrade and give more comfort to those who, like me, want controls on the unit itself. Displaying album art would be a nice feature. Not sure how much more I would pay for that, though.
Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. Given the cost, I wouldn't recommend it to others unless they did their own research and evaluation of desires and budget. I certainly wouldn't try to talk anyone out of it, though.

I purchased my Bose Wave Music System before Christmas of last year. I am 72 years young and love "old time" music. The features are the greatest and so easy to understand. My CD's sound so much better and the radio has the best sound. I am more than happy with my purchase and highly recommend this system.

Best music system I have ever owned

I've had Wave radio systems for at least 20 years. The first one I owned only had a radio (buttons were on top). I still use it in my bedrom. The second system I owned had the built-in CD player (buttons still on top). I gave that one to my 10 year old son and he has it in his bedroom. Then I got the Wave with the SoundTouch. This was a game-changer for sure. I use Internet Radio, i Heart Radio, and Pandora and the sound is phenomenal! All controlled from my i-Phone, it is far and away the best purchase in a music system I have ever made. I have gotten so used to the SoundTouch, I will never be able to do without it. And the sleek design fits so well with my furniture. I am looking to expand the system into other rooms.

Have a sound touch 20 and added this one to my network. The sound is amazing and being able to sync both systems is awesome. Also makes for an excellent alarm clock.
