Bought to replace an older ge convection oven microwave. We like the no handle front. Has a nicer look in our remodeled kitchen. Only problem we have had is the door sticks and now grinds. Repair person on the way this week. Hopefully, it will be resolved easily.

Purchased same model 5/10/17,,malfunctioned started up on its own. Couldn't shut off had to unplug, Got really hot to touch. Exchanged for another Hope this one is ok.

purchased feb 2017, dead in the water jan 2018. the control panel started to flickr and fritz out. and when looked further the wire connecting the front door panel had its wires completely severed off from "normal use".
luckily it was within the 1 year limited warranty so is being fixed, but am concerned it will again happen before the next year of use is over.
we liked the design of this product at first, but now realize perhaps they do not make many models like this because no one has figured out how to make the wires not break as most models have the panel to the side with the door just being a door. When this product breaks again, that is what we will be replacing it with, and also now most likely a non-GE model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Died in just over 2 years

I bought this microwave on 7/19/16 because it matched my stove. About a month ago it just stopped working, we replaced 2 internal parts and it worked for about 3 weeks and died again. I am very disappointed I have never paid so much for a microwave just to have it die in 2 years. I have a cheap microwave in my office that I have had for over 15 years.

Very disappointed in this product. I am firm GE customer and this particular item did not hold up to standards. I am on my second on of these and now this one is down for the count. And of course now this second one is past warranty!! Will not get this particular model again I am looking at the alternative model that will match the rest of my kitchen appliances. Looks awesome as the set but when I need to replace, TWICE???

I’ve had Panasonic counter top since 1989 that still works. This piece of crap quit less than 3 yrs. If it can’t be repaired will be changing brands.

NO BACKLIGTING FOR CONTROL PANEL

Would have never imagined this product could be marketed and sold without some kind of backlighting on the control panel buttons. Microwave is useless at night in a semi-dark kitchen as there is NO WAY TO SEE OPERATIONAL CONTROLS. As others have also noted, Interior lighting is very dark as well. Rating would be a 4 or 5 if the unit had proper lighting.

Thanks for the review and we want to also apologize for your frustration with your microwave. We do appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you think and that you're wanting backlit controls. We'll pass that along to our design team for future products.
We also wanted to mention that all microwaves have a window in the door that has a mesh screen inside of it. This screen helps keep the microwaves inside the cavity, and is a necessary part of the microwave.
You may find that the screen makes it difficult to see your food as it is cooking. Although it is difficult to see detail, the window should allow you to see if there are any problems while cooking, like arcing, burning, boilovers, etc. If you need to check on your food, opening the door will pause the microwave.
Hope this is helpful for you and that you continue to enjoy your unit for many more years to come.

Absolute worst quality product we've ever purchased. Purchased July 2021. January 2023, just 18 months later the magnetron went out. GE replaced it, even though it took a month. Here we are a mere 6 weeks later and guess what?! IT'S NOT HEATING AGAIN. I'd bet money it's the magnetron again. COMPLETE GARBAGE.
