Missing some needed items

Interior is very dark as opposed to last GE microwave which was white. Makes it difficult to view items inside device. Controls are not lit on front of microwave making it difficult to view required settings in low lit areas. Issues that should've been at the sold price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Functions well; a few minor points to consider

Over all this is a great microwave - spacious, very consistent and accurate in operation, lots of choices and functions. The only thing that bothers me, and it may be unavoidable in an over-the-range unit this size, is that the door is so wide that I sometimes actually wind up tapping my head with it when I open it. It's not dangerous, but you need to stand far enough away too avoid it. Also, I don't know if it was offered and I didn't think about it at the time, but I would have liked the door to open on the other side for my kitchen layout. If that isn't already an available option, itt would be great. All in all, though, this seems to be a very good microwave.

I have been using this appliance for a month now. I cannot find one thing I do not like about it. It is roomy, powerful, easy to operate and was not too difficult to install. It just checks all the boxes for me! Thank you GE. I now have a almost complete GE Suite of appliances. I will never buy any other brand!

Fairly even heating, cavernous capacity, easy to install. The door appears to be quite heavy and worry that the hinging is not strong enough, but no issues yet. The door controls are responsive and intuitive. Charcoal filter is easily accessed. An extender so that it covers the entire range would be welcome, but that's a criticism of most OTR microwaves. The fan suction could be improved as well. Overall we're pleased with the purchase.
