Cheap build and doesn't meet the advertised specs

I love GE appliances because the use to be good quality and reliable products. But I got truly disappointed with this one after I gotten and it not because any perform ace issue because is working. My disappointment is about the one that I received looks alike but its not the same, cheap poor build, smaller than the one advertised, doesn't has the filter fit, says 1000 watts instead 1050 watts, the price is to high for the quality of this. I had the same model and that one meet all specs as the advertising but after 2 years stopped working, so I decided to buy the same because I like it and I love smart technology, and after that time the microwave should be even better. I'm still waiting for a response for GE to ABT Electronics about this.

Love It....but

I love everything about this microwave. It is phenomenal when it is operational. However, I have had two and both have stopped working after 15+ months. The most recent was manufactured August 15 Both completely shut down and stopped working. Thankfully for the extended protection plan we received some money toward a new microwave but neither could be servcied We are now looking for a new microwave and I really want to go with this product as we loved it when it worked, but will I be in the same spot in 15+ months again?
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice but something went wrong

I purchased the identical model in November 2018, about three years ago. The unit started popping the circuit breaker whenever the door was opened while the unit was running (something my daughter likes to do). After a few months of that, the microwave was popping the breaker whenever it was turned on. I opened the unit and found some worn wires at the voltage transformer. I taped the wires but could not get to the parts closest to the transformer. The unit worked well for about another month after which I replaced it with an identical microwave.
The unit is nice with plenty of features. Plenty of power and large enough to handle most any task. I am greatly disappointed it did not last even three years. I purchased an identical microwave because of the convenience. It is an over the range model and needs to fit the same space, mounting etc. I cannot really recommend this unit until the one I have lasts six or more years. Otherwise, cost of ownership it too high (poor value).

Entire guts of this model failed during 3rd year

In 2018, We always were concerned about GE Profile series appliances' quality. We bought our Profile kitchen appliances, Dishwasher, Gas double oven range, Over the range microwave, and French door Refrigerator. The dishwasher, Refrigerator was replaced within a week.. Refrig had scratches all over the slate finish due to delivery. The Dishwasher leaked at the diverter and was replaced. The good news was the dealer did not hesitate to replace both units immediately. By August 2021, the 2.0 cubic over range Microwave suddenly was tripping the breaker until finally the entire guts were fried.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Trips breaker and now it’s dead

I have had this microwave for about 3 years. Beginning last year it would constantly trip the dedicated breaker. Last night it happened again and seems to have fried itself.

GE Profile microwave oven

Great apperance, size and features...controlls are well located and light and exhaust fan are well design. Unfortunatly, I have a product failure that prevents the unit to turn on, it just blows the fuse. The warranty period of 1 yr is just innapropiate for a unit of this price as other similar units available from other competitors range 5/3 yrs parts/labor.

Be certain the microwave is on its own dedicated circuit. Reset the breaker or replace the household fuse and try the microwave one more time. If the breaker trips off again, unplug the microwave and contact service.

Too large for opening

I'm happy with our GE Profile microwave but very upset that this product is slightly larger than the 9 year old GE Profile that it replaced. The old one came right out...I carefully followed direction for installation of the new bracket etc.... When time to lift the new microwave into the opening, it wouldn't fit. Would go in about 3/4 of the way and then just jam....My opening is square and my cabinets tight to the wall. The only way to get this unit into the space that has been fine for the last two microwaves was to place a large car jack on the floor and then use a 5 foot long 2x4 with another 2x4 on top like a tee.... and force the microwave into position. If I ever have to remove it, I will use a grinder to shave off a fraction of an inch from the cabinet sides. One would have to think that a GE Profile product would fit in the space that a previous GE profile product came out.....
I would recommend this to a friend!
