I bought a home and the builder put "Lower End" GE appliances and our home is a smart home. After researching microwaves this thing is BAD!! I mean Michael Jackson BAD!! LOL This thing communicates with my smart oven and vice versa. I LOVE IT!!

This is a nice unit, I like the pre assigned options to choose from. I love the steam option too! It is also sleek and quite quiet. Overall a great appliance.

Love This Oven

I am short, so I especially like that the controls are on the bottom. I also like that it senses the time needed for potatoes, etc. I don't have to guess. I use the express timers most of the time. It is wonderful

Door design flaw

On the GE Profile MWO PVM9005SJ8SS, the door is designed to sit outside the surrounding cabinets - not within them. The door is hinged in a way that when it opens, it moves outside the width of the cabinet. So if the microwave is installed in the 30" space it is designed for, the door will not open - or will only partially open. The door of my microwave only opens half way before the edge of the door hits the cabinet frame. At some point, the door is going to break.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Please know a standard installation, it needs 13" max cabinet depth. A 15” cabinet depth requires additional steps using an additional installation kit JX15BUMPWW/BB.
