Beautiful unit but have two problems with it.

First problem, the microwave was DOA out of the box. GE tech support got to me fairly quickly, order parts, came back 10 days later and repaired the unit. It had a cracked magnet in the magnetron. Most likely this happened in production. Not sure how a non-functional microwave got through quality control. Working fine now. Kudos to the tech.
Second problem, lights. The interior light is so weak it's of little use. The surface light is so weak it is worthless and gets what I believe is dangerously hot. Going to look for an LED replacement for the halogen bulb.
Bottom line I guess I expected better from GE Profile on a pretty expensive microwave..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We do not recommend replacing a halogen bulb with a LED, as an LED may not function properly when installed inside of the microwave.

Nice addition to my kitchen

The only reason(s) I give it 4 stars: 1) the door is really large to swing open due to all icons are across the bottom 2) the exhaust fan starts on super high when you turn it on low would be much better IMHO. 3) the icon buttons are a little hard to press, not just touch.

Love the slate color

GE Profile Microwave

Great looking microwave, disappointed it does have a beverage setting(weird), the surface light has no automatic setting my older and cheaper GE Profile microwave. Door also swings out far so “heads up”. Other than it works well and looks good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
