Would Not Have Bought Had I Known

We have had GE Microwaves since they first came out decades ago. We are so disappointed. We cannot look at our food without opening the door. The light is dismal and the view is blocked out with a dark shaded glass door. Had I known this I would not have bought it. To make it worse, the buttons were so hard to push I called warranty service. He ordered a new door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Door Design

The door is too large. Have to step back when you open it. Also not fingerprint resistant

Nice large size interior. Lots of options on buttons. Easy to clean and looks very sleek with handle on the side. Easy installation by delivery crew.

Nice microwave, not identical to previous version!

A nice microwave, but it has changed from 3 years ago. We replaced our previous PVM9005SJSS model that failed with this model, which appears the same, but is not identical. The new model PVM9005SJ8SS is slightly less tall, and the window for viewing food inside is smaller. Also, the two-lamp system that lights the cook top beneath is a single, HOT halogen bulb now, and not as bright. The microwave works fine and is very similar in appearance, but required an entirely new installation (bracket was different, drilled more holes in the wall, etc.).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the clean lines and how it looks with our other appliances. The vent does an amazing job and it’s nice to have working lights above the stove again. Just wish the preset buttons worked more accurately (I.e. the popcorn button)
