We just renovated our kitchen and needed an over the range microwave. It is really beautiful and so large inside. The lighting and fan are great too! We always buy GE Profile and will continue to do so!

Was great, until it wasn’t. Didn’t make it 4 years

We loved the look of this microwave and after installation it was great. I was always a little concerned about the cord holding the wires to the door as it was slowly fraying. Well, less than 4 years in and the microwave is shot. You open or close the door? Breaker blows. Try to turn it on, breaker blows. I won’t even bother replacing it with another ge. Outlet tested, no issues with it or breaker. For this kind of money, it shouldn’t break down this soon. Repair guy said this one is too expensive to even try and repair. Out of warranty so I am out of luck.

Crapped out in less than 2 years

We've had this microwave less than two years and used it regularly. It has now stopped working less than two years from our purchase date, but after the warranty expiration. Not happy.

Worse Microwave Ever

Microwave stop working one month after one year warranty expired and read other reviews about microwave having electrical issues that generally happen after one to two years and costly to repair. GE is aware of this and need to take microwave off the market and reimburse the consumer!

No external handle! Dimensions are misleading

This is a good looking microwave, with plenty of space inside. Controls are a little hard to push. We would be completely satisfied except for the internal handle. Before buying, we checked dimensions online. The needed width is 30 inches, which would fit exactly into the space. HOWEVER, nowhere is it indicated that there must be extra space on the right in order to fit your fingers behind the door to pull it open. We're looking for a handle to stick on the door so we can open it more easily. Right now we have to put our hands on the top and bottom of the door and pull it open. We usually leave it open when not using it to make it easier.

Like the chef connect.

I bought this microwave oven a month ago to go compliment the GE Gas Range that I purchased. In general the microwave oven has performed as expected. On one occasion the vent fan turned on automatically while both ovens and the cooktop were in use. The chef connect was setup to not activate the vent fan. Once the vent fan came on it would not turn off. This leads me to believe that there are quality problems with the microwave oven. The door to the oven seems "flimsy" because the hinge has excessive free play vertically. The buttons on the microwave oven have to be pushed hard to activate them.

I purchased the microwave to match the other slate color appliances. It is very large & bulky. Because the features are made on the door instead of the side it is huge! You must be careful opening it up as I have fit myself in the head a couple of times. If it has a light inside you can't tell what's in it becaus the front panel is so dark.
