Just installed. Looks to be good. Shorter than the microwave that was taken out so we need to fix the space left from the other one. Didn't measure. Controls are on the bottom which is interesting but that makes an extra wide swing on the door. (Watch your head when opening.) My wife is 4'10" and the microwave is higher than the old to allow more space for the range top but she has trouble putting things in the microwave Vent runs after the cooking is complete - I assume to cool the microwave - and the microwave is off. I sound like I don't like it which is not right. It is very good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Microwave needs more down lighting

I have had the microwave for about 24 hours and have noticed one issue so far. There is only ONE over the range light that has high and low settings. Neither high nor low setting is as bright as they should be. I think GE has 2 options to remedy this problem. 1. Add a 2nd light or 2. Add a brighter halogen bulb. Option 2 is a VERY easy fix IF they can install a brighter bulb at the factory! I will contact the store I purchased from but I am sure they will have me contact GE support and ask about installing a brighter bulb.
