Room for Improvement

Capacity is nice size, but will miss the shelf I had in my last microwave. The controls are a nice size and right up front. There could be more features like a nite light, brighter light inside oven and also brighter surface light. The door width is too wide as I hit my neck when opening the door. The installation instructions are inaccurate in places such as 3 screws to remove cover to get to charcoal filter. Installation instructions talk about screwing in the lightbulb up to 50 watts, but this oven has nothing in the screw-in hole but has a push-in light beside the screw-in hole. I cannot find max wattage for pushin bulb to maybe brighten the lightbulb up a bit.
Also, and this is big—we were replacing a 25 year old GE profile oven. Why in the world was the mounting plate design changed? We had to take down a sturdy well made plate from the previous Profile oven because the slots for hanging were not in the same place! The new mounting plate is lighter and seems a little flimsy for holding the oven. Additionally, one screw hole location at the top did not lineup with the previous ovens screw holes so we had to drill yet another hole in our cabinet.
We are hopeful that this oven will last as long as our previous Profile oven; then we’ll never have to install another in our lifetime!

Had to replace after 4 years

This is our second purchase of this same microwave due to first one quit working after 4 years. Would have purchased a different model but due to backsplash , had to te purchase this one.

Easy Install

Easy to install. GE sends enough directions and templates with the instructions that anyone can do it. This is my first higher end appliance and I will be getting GE for everything!
