Do better GE

Bought this to replace a similar model that is no longer made. Pretty much the same microwave from the controls aspect; as well as, the same size. Issues: The mounting screws are in different locations than the discontinued model. The plug is 1/2 inch off the previous model location as well. The mounting bar is also different so you can’t use the previous bar. Now I have a bunch of holes in the cabinet above to accommodate the additional holes required. Needs to be a better method for hole placement than a larger piece of paper pattern. Should have been a no brainer to leave them the same. Irritating to say the lease.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts and exhaust adapter should also be used. The mounting kits have changed over the years and are not interchangeable. Keys on Touchpad had to Press

Just installed this to replace an 11 yr old GE microwave which keypad went bad. Opted for this new profile model with its clean looks. As mentioned by other reviews, the touchpad is VERY had to press on all keys. This definitely needs to be addressed in future models.

Problem already - just purchased

Poor. We like the look of it and it is the same base model as the previous one we bought 5 years ago. This new one, however, has an intermittent problem where the fan turns on for no reason and the light doesn't always turn on when you open the door. It appears to be a connection problem with the door. If I press up on the door slightly when the fan is running for no reason, the fan turns off. We now have a service call in on a microwave that is only two weeks old. Does anyone quality control the product before it leaves the factory? What a hassle for the customer.

Replacement unit needed- first unit died in 2 yrs. Had no real choice in replacement due to space limitations. When it works, no issues.

No high hopes

This is my third GE microwave, including two Profiles and a Cafe in 6 years. I frankly don't have high hopes for this one either but at least it was cheaper than the cafe.
