Lasted long enough to go out of warranty

Replaced our standard run of the mill microwave after having it for 20 years. It still worked but didn’t match our new range. So bought the top of the line GE Profile and the thing lasted just long enough to go out of warranty. GE use to make quality appliances but not any longer.

bought with GE Profile induction range and now the main controller is toast. None of the buttons work, but the display is happily glowing. The parts are insanely expensive and add to that the cost of a service person and it’s cheaper to buy a new machine. So, a perfectly good machine will go to the dump because of a digital contrôler that should sell for about $15 ... no expensive components in this little circuit board. Crazy.

Missing a Feature and noisy on Startup

We love the size and sleek Look, I really really miss the Timed Nite Light feature. It does have Bright and Low light but its missing On/Off Nite Light at timed setting. It also makes a rattle noise when the magnetron starts up. Once it starts it's quiet. I will be calling it in for service while it's under warranty. Hopefully it lasts as long or longer than my last GE which I only replaced for asthetics. This microwave at 1100 watts does cook food evenly and heats quickly. Really miss that night light.

Don't Do It!

One star for it looking sleek and nice. That is why I spent so much money for this microwave in the first place. But it didn't last three years. Like so many other reviewers, the opening and closing of the microwave door eventually cuts through the wires connecting the body to the control panel. Had it fixed and it happened again after another year. Now I am looking for a replacement and will never buy a microwave with the control panel on the door again.

Failed after 2.5 years

For the price of this microwave you would expect it to last. It suddenly quit working after less than 3 years. I did some research and replaced the interior fuse. It worked again for 2 day before the fuse blew again. I checked all the door switches and all are functioning properly. The means your can't fix it yourself. I'm not about to invest anymore into this thing when it won't even last 3 years. I guess it just needs to outlast the 1 year warranty. Sad. I hope GE appliance all of my Samsung appliance are still going just fine and are more than twice as old.

Buttons made for a man

Even my husband understands what buttons to push, you know how difficult it is for some of them to operate simple machines. He can read them and understand what he needs to do. It's like a miracle.

This microwave is the best one I have ever own. It fits above the stove nicely. The features are easy to use and understand. Nice looking. Plenty of space for all sizes of dishes inside.

DO NOT BUY, Died after 2 years.

After 2 years the unit died. Keeps tripping the breaker. When I tried to reset the breaker the first time it scorched the plug. This is the second GE appliance to die after two years the first was my GE Dishwasher.
