Different dimensions

I purchased this model, I thought, to replace the same exact model that broke on me almost exactly 3 years from original purchase. I was hoping that it would just fit in the custom cabinetry that I had built around the original unit. Well that’s not the case this new unit does not have the same dimensions. Had to drill new mounting holes, there is now a gap on top, the door hits the knob on the cabinet next to it. Not really happy that the old one broke down after only three years and the new has different dimensions. There are only two adults in the house that use the microwave maybe twice a day.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This Microwave Oven Model Has Declined in Quality

This model's look has changed over the past 6 years. There is a visible bulge that hangs down from the bottom of the oven. The entire microwave one inch shorter in height. They made it ugly to make the box and the door smaller to save on materials. The door no longer opens and closes with a solid hinge. (It feels loose.) The power level is also lower. The instructions to install the microwave are defective for rear vent installation. They leave out the need to install the damper on the rear opening. I know this because it was previously required and other microwave models show this damper being installed.

Poor design

Microwave works great. I’m not as happy with the functionality. The buttons seem hard to hit the right spot. There’s a huge unused area which forces one to shift to the side in order to close the door.

Bluetooth is worthless.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Chef Connect is terrible. It works and then suddenly stops working. Have to turn off appliances to get it to pair back up. Biggest waste of money. Already had service come once.

Replaced & earler modle of this same microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this unit to replace an earler model of this same unit that lasted 9+ years.
The price comparision from the earlier model was about $25 more. I am able to compair as I retain all paperwork and receipts form all major purchases to follow up on replacements or warrenty as needed.
This unit is generally the same size, only the height is a little smaller, which is ok as I like the extra clearance over the cook top. I installed the unit fairly easy, you will need 2 people to hang the new unit in place. The only issue with the install was the cabinet templet and how to set it to pick up the top mounting holes. The wall templet was right on. The bottom grease filters are the same size as the old ones, which I purchased to replace as needed. the charcoal filter at the top of the unit is different, Bummer! All in all if I get 9 years out of this unit it's worth it. It looks good, it performs well and I was happy to find the same style unit. As a note: I have a GE counter top microwave over 12 years old, that is another reason I return to GE for this type of appliance.

Pleased with my new GE appliance

Looks very nice . Installation by installers seemed a breeze. They were done in a jiffy. So far am pleased.
