One issue is black top

Not as good as the one I replaced after 18 years

I was replacing my 18 year old stove and was very excited about a new stove and convection oven. The top is much harder to clean with the recommended cleaner. Takes 3x as long to preheat the oven. Not impressed with the convection feature and would have liked a small burner in the front as I am short. The salesman told me I would be getting the oven with 3 racks, but it only came with two and could not use the ones from my old GE oven as they did not fit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very nice range

I had a GE range comparable to my new one for 19 years. An while the quality of new ranges are not near what they used to be 19 years ago, this is a very nice range with lots of features. However, it does seem to be a step backward in some areas - to start the timer you need to push the timer button, set the time, and push the timer start button (my other one was a one-touch & set the time); you can barely hear the timer or pre-heat beeper when they go off; to start the oven takes a second push of a button to start pre-heating (my older range you just turn the knob to preheat to desired temp); also taller pans will not fit on the back burners because the control panel is too low to the range top (there is only about a 4 1/2 in clearance). I haven't had it long enough to use all the features. This is my first convection oven, so that is a learning curve for me as is the whole range after 19 years. Over all it is very nice and I'm sure it will take some getting used to.

A stove for a "Real Man"

This stove was designed by a man who only boils water on the stove!!! The front left burner, the one most often used, has NO SIMMER temperature; you have to lean over the front of the stove to the back burner to use a burner with that feature. It is the one ladies use most to keep soups and chilis and stews at the serving temperature. Other than this very obvious feature, the stove seems to function much like the other GE stoves I have had. I like the smooth glass top that is easy to clean. I have been very happy with the other functions. Wish the company would include a "quick" start sheet and inform user of the the most basic of functions such as how to set the clock time and the temperatures which each burner possesses. (or not in the case of the front burner !!)
