Wow! Most impressive! Two years ago, bought the 720p Epson PowerLite 730 HD. Used it with no issues. Bought a protection plan that included free bulb replacement. Brought it in, they sent it out for repair, and told us they would have to give us a free replacement projector. Oh, that's too bad, we said. Darn. Could hardly keep from smiling. So, we took the $641 refund and applied it toward a new, Epson PL HC 2045. Got a price match, that saved us $61 off the new one, too! Got it home on 3-Mar-2016 and watched Avatar, played PS4 games, and watched LOTR over the next three days. Could not believe the improvement over the previous model. Incredibly clear picture. Super quiet. Can't wait to test the 3D. Did not buy extended warranty, but this comes with 2 year, but only 90 days on bulb.

Fantastic Mid Range Home Projector

Let me just say this is a flat out amazing projector for the money. We were originally looking at 4K TV's, but then my wife wanted something much larger than a 65"screen for football season. After looking at several projectors we were looking at the Epson 8350 and the Epson 3500, but when we went in to make our purchase both units were out of stock so the sales rep showed us the 2045. I was amazed at the options the unit had for the price. We were originally concerned about the lumen count, but we purchased the unit any ways. Boy am I happy we did. The unit is quiet, light weight and has an absolutely fantastic picture quality. Ultimately we decided on getting a 3500 for our living room and we use the 2045 for our back yard and for our game room. While the 3500 has deeper contrasts and thus bolder colors the picture quality of the 2045 is very close. This is by far the best entry to mid range projector money can buy. Epson did a fantastic job designing this unit and we could not be happier.

OMG!! What a Picture :-))

FedEx delivered my projector and I literally had it set up in 7minutes(watchable, not set up to completion). I was sitting at my desk, turned the projector on while it was hooked up to my Dish Hopper and I couldn't believe my eyes.... I had a 10ft tall TV screen on my wall that was crystal clear right out of the box, didn't expect that. Realistically my screen is going to be roughly 80 - 90 inch.
My wall is that neutral beige color and I do have windows in my room, the shades were not closed. I was a little worried about the day light prior to turning the projector on, no worries now. I know when I set my HD projector screen, the picture will only be better. This is my first time owning a projector and wish I had only gotten one sooner.

Very Bright

The Epsom PLHC 2045 has a bright sharp picture [12ft projector to screen - 8ft wide image]. Grandkids love it for playing Xboxone and viewing movies. Although lumens values are the same as my previous projector, it is much brighter even on econo. mode.

Wow! I couldn't be more satisfied with this projector. The picture quality is better than I expected! I've seen projectors that cost 3x as much without the picture quality.

Got this model which is a step up from the previous one purchased for my family. It mentioned less lumens (3,000 vs 2,200) but a higher contrast (35,000:1 vs 10,000:1) so was a little concerned it might not be bright enough to still show when the lights in the room are turned on. It was great, just as bright and can see the picture perfectly even with the lights on in the room if necessary. The contrast is so good I don't think I can project onto my wall anymore and will need a better surface to really show even more detail in the picture.

This is my first projector and after a lot of research we felt this projector and cost was the best on the market. We were not disappointed! I would highly recommend this projector.

I am very happy to have Epson 2045. It provides clear projection in my family room even during present ambient lights. I don't have any curtain in four windows in family room. I just close blinds and its dark enough to project during day time even. Contrast ratio 35000:1 provide awesome emage.
