No need for convection

This stove was installed this morning. There was a bit of a dent, but that was taken care of. I haven't used it yet, but have already put the Ceramic Clean polish on it to help preserve the surface.

Top of Stove/Cook Top Scratches extremely easily

I bought this range one week ago. The first time I cooked on it, white spots appeared and I had to work very hard to get them out using the cleaner GE included. The next few times I cooked on it, the same thing happened. I went back to the appliance store and told them. They told me sometimes people just need to get used to it when first getting an electric range. I told them I had one for 14 years and never had an issue. It takes way too much elbow grease to clean the cook top and the cleaner they give you makes it smeary. They gave me a blade to use for the white spots in case something was stuck on there, which put some scratches in it. A friend suggested I use Windex which is not recommended anywhere in their literature but I tried it with nothing to lose, and it definitely took care of the smearing, while white vinegar and Dawn dish detergent did nothing. The white spots seem to be under control but I would not think it should need to be broken in. I also bought a GE dishwasher and so far, it's good, but I am not so sure I will be buying a GE refrigerator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
