Just recently purchased but so far love it. My first time with a smooth top. A little anxious about scratching the surface. I love the burner options of small versus large choice.

Disappointed with GE

Cook top is too sensitive to pitting even with just a small splatter. It appears that you designed the stove for people that do not really cook and use it. If i had known how sensitive it was I wouldn't have ever purchased a cook top. I hadn't originally planned on a cook top but the other choice was a very poor quality. Disappointed in GE.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cooktop is impossible to clean

I have had glasstop ranges before, but this one seems impossible to keep clean. Every night, I am scraping stuff off of it and applying the cleaner, and still not getting it clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

How can I be SO wrong!!!

Bought this unit, along with dishwasher and microwave, November of 2017 with all the confidence gained from reading the reviews, talking with sales reps and GE reputation in general.
First ... when, if ever, is the fan supposed to come on? Convection cooking? Preheating? Is there some place to manually turn it on, just to see if it works? So far I haven't seen/heard it operate.
Steam clean? What a joke ... put a cup of water in bottom of oven, turned it on and after 30 minutes I had a dirty oven and a cup of water in my oven!!! Maybe my soiling is too much. Soiling came from butter overflowing a casserole after I had removed my protective cookie sheet. I will try the self cleaning mode next.

Overall I am very dissatisfied with this unit and my dishwasher.
Microwave is great, just wish vent fan was a little quieter.

Review of my new stove

I bought this range about a month ago and it's so different from the one we had before which was also a GE that lasted 23 years. The new one is about 3 times faster than the old one the new one is about 3 times faster than the old one it heats up water really fast and the oven is the same way really really happy with it

Been using GE 700 range for 2 months, Top of the line quality, cleans up like new again. Love the 7 option variable heating surfaces! All my strange multi-sized pans have a perfect home for efficient heating. ;-)
