A dishwasher that will brighten your day!

We purchased this dishwasher a month ago and we love it! I especially love the little melody it plays when I open and close it- it's so cheerful! My husband is a chef and sometimes it seems like he dirtied every dish, pot, and pan in our kitchen to make one meal... Thankfully this dishwasher has the capacity to hold it all. The organization is awesome; I love the chopstick shelf.
I watched some videos online about the cleaning power of this model and I tried to recreate the experiment in my home. Unfortunately, even after using the steam feature, dried on food residue remained after the full cleaning cycle. If I had not watched the videos and heard the claims of no pre-rinse required, I would be completely satisfied.

Not as efficient as I had hoped

I have to make sure everything is rinsed well before putting into dishwasher. I also am unhappy that there are times the soap door does not open during a cycle. I feel as if I need to run a heavy load for every cycle to make sure things get cleaned better, even if it is a light load.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not happy with the performance

I bought this dishwasher in Novemeber. It cleans the dishes about 50% of the time. I am practically washing the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher and then many of the dishes come out with food particles on them still. For the amount of time it takes to go through the cycle and have the dishes come out dirty, it's not worth it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome upgrade

I recently purchased this dishwasher to replace a older GE unit that came with our house 12 years ago. After the a couple of weeks of use, I have to say have been very pleasantly surprised! It is whisper quiet, as compared to it's predecessor. In addition, the tall tub construction means I can hold a much larger number of dishes as well.
I've read the negative reviews regarding the unit and I have to say that I have not experienced any of those issues. Most dishwashers won't dry with absolutely no water left in the tub. The dishes have been spot free and clean in every cycle I've completed (quick wash and normal cycles). For those that may have hard water issues, a Jet Dry product should help with the spots. The only issue could be the length of the cycles. However, given the energy efficiency and the fact that it holds close to 50% more dishes than my previous unit, I would say this is a fare trade off.
The design is sleek/modern and goes well with the GE appliances currently in my kitchen, especially the 3 door profile refrigerator we upgraded to a couple years back. I really lie the steam feature that was not available back when the unit it replaced was made. The installation I did myself and it was pretty straight forward. If you are replacing an older unit, like I did, I would recommend replacing the supply line and 90 degree elbow -- the power cord can be recycled.
Although I haven't had it nearly as long as the model it replaced, this dishwasher is off to a very good start. For the money, it delivers on all of the important things

I'm so happy with this gift we were given!! It is super quite, has lock for the controls, deep rack space!!! All of our tall glasses even those big sports travel mugs fit into the top rack! NO more cups on the bottom rack and it has a setting to were you can either was the top or bottom rack by themselves!! Super excited to do the dishes now!!LOL

Could be better

I bought this model because the finish matches my refrigerator - if you wash a smaller load that is not really dirty it does great, and the basket made for the silverware does not get them clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
