Our last GE washer and dryer lasted over 10 years of heavy use. We are retired and we wanted new GE washer and dryer to be the last units we will ever buy.

Bought this dryer as part of an overall appliance package so pricing was good. I think the dryer works well, and I'm not used to an electric. I just moved this year and there was no gas hookup for the dryer. I was concerned with electricity consumption and cost at first but now seeing the electric bill is not unusually high so pleased with the cost to run it. One small concern is that the dryer can run really hot - not that I'm concerned from a safety standpoint- but more from the possibility of significant shrinkage of your cotton clothes! Even the low heat setting seems to be hot, at least compared to my last gas dryer. It overall this thing dries very well and it has functions to help monitor the loads well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Would not buy it again

Have used the dryer for a couple of months. It is supposed to have a sensor to tell if the clothes are dry. Does not work very well. Have tried the different settings and sometimes the clothes are dry and sometimes not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the large capacity. It dries everything more evenly and much faster than my previous eleven year old front loader.
