Of all the televisions that I have owned, Samsung is by far the best. With the recent purchase of this UHD TV, I am able to watch HD quality TV shows and movies. There is without a doubt a difference in viewing quality. I notice things in movies that I would not have been able to see in older TVs. I am extremely happy with this purchase.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight, video quality, thinness, equalizer sound setting, not a bulky remote control, hdmi and usb external box
Cons: remote control is hard to get used to using, edges are not silver as it appears in many photos
I would recommend this to a friend!

The picture quality is excellent. The styling is equally incredible.
I occasionally get booted out of the Smart Hub Feature.
Hopefully this will be rectified with future software upgrades.
otherwise, I highly recommend this Samsung model.
Pros: excellent picture quality
Cons: unrelyable smart hub feature

Spent weeks researching... already have 1 Samsung in my bedroom, and it is great. When we decided to get rid of our old giant mammoth living room TV, we went with the cheapest, largest flat screen we could find. A year later we regretted that decision. We had 3 lines down the right side of the TV, then 6 months after that it developed a big black blob right in the top center. UGH. Decided to make a smarter purchase and we are SO glad we did. Set up was a breeze. But, the picture...WOW! Thanks Samsung!!
Pros: best quality for the $

4K UHD JU7100 Series Smart TV - Be Aware of ARC Limitations If Using Home Theatre
on May 5, 2016

This is my 3rd Samumg TV. Mr first 2 where HE and this is first UHD TV. I selected after weeks of research.
First, the picture is everything that has been said: Amazing. A whole new experience.
Second, the experience of setting up the TV was pretty easy if you have network or wireless in place already.
Third, I ended up loosing 2-days of setup on one feature that worked in my previous Samsung HD TV and ended up not working on this model: ARC. For those not familiar that is the Audio Return Channel that allows the Samsung TV to send audio to Home Theater Receiver on the same HMI Cable that sends the image signal to the Samsung.
When the 7100 arrived I literally unplugged the cables from the back of the HD Samsumg and plugged it in to the 7100. However, no matter what I did, I could not get the 7100 to send sound to the Home Theater Receiver.
A call the the Samsung Customer Support Center give me the answer: The ARC on the 7100 was not yet programmed to support my 3-year old Home Theater Receiver. Up to t his point I understood the ARC is a Standard and if a device advertises is supports ARC then it will work with another devices that supports ARC. Apparently that is not the case and, despite the great picture, I might have chosen differently if I had known in advance. The work around solution was to purchase a Audio Digital Optic Cable and route the sound through there. That meant reprogramming tjhe Receiver and Remote to make it all work.
Beware if you are planning on using ARC.
Experience this far:
1. Remote Control is small and intuitive, but despite downloading the manual, I can't get it to both turn on my Home Theater Receiver and Change to the proper audio input channel. Sticking with my Harmony Remote for now. for non Receiver applications, it will be fine.
2. The optional purchase Keyboard is well designed and useful. It is worth the extra cost.
3. Not crazy about Smart TV user interface. Too busy. The prior Smart TV interface was more static and predicable in how things were organized. Personally, I wanted to customize my user experience. The closest I got was my programs landing in the Recently Used bar on the bottom of the screen.
4. Netflix interface has changed in this model. Previous I screen real estate was My Programs then other categories. This release the majority of the screen is Netflix "advertising." Also, don't care for a feature they picked up from Amazon where when you are watch a series, the next episode automatically starts if you done't exit in 30 seconds.
5. Smart TV My Programs includes some items that are not "my programs" that are hard set and cannot be removed. Added to the cluttered feel for it.
6. Playing non- UHD Content is amazing. Series from the 80 and the 90s that I watch so far looked so different and clear. An amazing engineering effort.
7. Some features like being able to put the broadcast screen and the internet side by side on the screen is clever and practical--especially if you like sports. You can have you sports internet site up on one part of the screen and the game on the other. Cannot wait till football starts!
8. Voice command and pointer feature--which have been around in Samsung for awhile are in this model and make using the unit more intuitive.
Overall with caveats on ARC, I would recommend this unit.
Pros: amazing picture detail, clever and useful features, great value for price
Cons: expectations on using arc not managed well, remote does not have audio input selection
I would recommend this to a friend!
