Another broken lid

Took over a year, but lid finally broke and had to modify the remaining elements to allow me to continue to brew/pour. Stainless steel carafe was attractive feature when I bought it, but agree this maker not keeping coffee hot after brewing. Looks like a replacement will be on my Christmas list (and not B+D).

Would not purchase again!

This coffee maker is just ok. It replaced a previous version of the insulated carafe model that lasted 12 years. The main complaint is the insulated carafe - when pouring a cup of coffee, the coffee drips from the spout. We have to place a dish towel under the carafe while pouring to avoid a mess on the counter top.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an update on my review of the Black & Decker thermal coffeemaker. I have two of these models and had a problem with the carafe lid, which I had posted a review on. The original review stated I liked how quick it made the coffee and kept the coffee warm in the carafe but had an issue with the lid breaking. Since then I have been contacted by Spectrum Brands, who make the coffeemaker, and they asked me for some info on my unit. I received an email that a new carafe lid is being sent out, this is great customer service. I am now changing my review to a 5 star as I liked the unit before other than the lid issue.

Great product but lid issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this coffee maker approximately 2 months ago and have enjoyed the thermal carafe that keeps the coffee hot and fresh all day. However, the "stop & pour" feature has developed a problem. We use the automatic timer daily so the coffee is ready when we get up. Now - either the basket or the carafe lid are not allowing the coffee to drain into the carafe as it brews. The basket overflows and coffee/water goes everywhere. We haven't found the exact cause or a solution so will be purchasing a new (different) coffee maker. I understand there is a 2-year warranty but haven't been able to find the details on that in my paperwork.

Love this coffee maker

I've had this for a few years now, and it has been a great coffee maker. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours, and I love how easy it is to program.
The only issue has been the tab on the lid broke. I haven't been able to find a replacement lid thus far, so have just had to use the broken one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quit after 8 months

We purchased this coffee maker 8 months ago. It has been used very little and has totally quit. The electronics do not come on when it is plugged in. When we did use it, it overflowed and spilled coffee and grounds all over more than once. We would NOT recommend this coffee maker. It says it has a 2 year warranty, but the link on the web site for the warranty and to register it will not work.

powers off multiple times during brew cycle

1st one had to be replaced ( by B&D ) because the unit kept powering off as if the brew cycle was complete. The only way to get a complete pot was to stand next to the unit and keep pressing the power button back on until cycle was complete. Replacement unit worked fine for a few weeks and now the new one is starting to do the same thing. Maybe you get half a pot. Maybe you get just a little. Please contact me re: a 2nd replacement unit and possibly switching to a different, none electronic model.

Love the Carafe...HATE the lid lever that failed

We love the thermal carafe. Makes great coffee that we can take to the table, outside, or wherever our hearts desire. HOWEVER, the lid lever cracks and won't work. I took lid apart and quickly saw the problem. Thought perhaps a little gorilla glue might work...did for a week. The stress point is a problem. I'd love to give it more stars and a hearty "yes" recommendation, but... well, you know... the lid. Still thinking about how to fix the lid, but I gotta drink coffee so we just take it off and pour. Frustrating.
