No power

So I go to turn it on.....and nothing. Unplugged each component-nothing. Left unplugged for 2 days- nothing. What’s going on? This Sony gone for good?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

App to control unit not available

Well I bought a sony str-dn1060, to replace my denon unit that I had before. The denon has a great app that I could control the unit in fully with my phone. There is not an app available to control this unit. I loved that i could turn on my basement speakers with my phone. The airplay function works great but it is an apple thing and I used android devices, for the android only the bluetooth is available which is not that long range, there is the mirror link also which I have not been able to get it to work with my phone. I would love to keep it for all the advertised google cast and such but i think the denon works better with my samsung phone. So I might return it and purchase a new denon.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Enanom! You can control your receiver and use the multi-room capability by downloading an application called SongPAL which can be used with Android devices. For more information please follow the next link:

Regarding the issue you are experiencing with screen mirroring we would like to suggest first to make sure that your mobile device is supported by Miracast, which is the technology that the receiver is compatible with. Once you have verify that it does support the Miracast technology follow the steps available through the link below to make sure is set properly:

With little instructions to accompany the Receiver, you need a college degree to setup the system. Even the online manual leaves a lot to be desired in leading one to setup the system. Very poor.

Solid budget performer

I have had this product for about 2 years. It replaced an earlier Sony receiver.
I use this for music and 5.1 sound for movies. Drives a set of Klipsh towers and Bose 5.1 system without any problems. In my research, you need to speed around over a thousand to get significant audio improvement. If you are looking for an Atmos set-up, this is not it.

We needed a replacement for our relatively new, but failing, Marantz home theater AV receiver. I went to the local electronics store looking for something they had on sale that would serve as an inexpensive, temporary replacement and complement our old (2009) Sony XBR and Blu-ray player. I found a leftover Sony STR-DN1060 for an incredible price and purchased it thinking it would be a temporary fix until we updated our entire home theater system. Immediately we noticed the easy setup then the incredibly rich sound. We always thought our speakers just didn’t live-up to their reputation, but the new amp really transformed the sound of our system. We are so pleased with our STR-DN1060, and after very positive experiences with Sony’s reliability and longevity over other brands, we now do not feel the need to update it immediately and will be updating our TV and Blu-ray player instead.
