Great Product

We were long over due for a new machine. I did lots of research and found a good deal at my local home improvement store. You do need to drain the wash basin every two weeks. This is super simple. It takes me about two minutes. I haven't noticed any leaks or bad odors. Very happy with my LG.

Out of all the Washers and Dryers I've purchased over the years, the LG 8500HVA and the matching dryer are by far the best ones we've owned. We love the capacity, the speed and the clean smell of our clothes. I am glad that we decided on this pair.

Great But.....

I do love this LG washing machine. I love that it has a large capacity, is basically quiet, does the job, is easy to load. Where I think the designers failed is with the drainage pump located at the bottom of the machine. The drainage tube is too short. It does not pass beyond the door to the little compartment making it hard to empty the water into a container, and the filter was hard to remove to check it. I had to use a wrench to open it. When I put the filter back, I did not realize that I needed to make it very tight to avoid water on my floor. I hope that with their next version of this machine, LG will lengthen the drainage tube. If this is the situation with other washing machines, they should consider fixing the feature in the other models as well.

One of the best

We had this washer now for over 3 months. Quite frankly this is one of the best washers we ever had. The temperature cycles are spot on, the dials etc are intuitive and easy to select and the hot cycle is a hot cycle. For the price we paid for this machine you will not be finding a better one. Ahhh well, I almost forgot, the washing comes out super clean, which is kind of important in washing machine.

Removed Stubborn, Set in stains

The allergene cycle removed stains from linens that had set in and failed to be removed by my previous washer after 8 washes. Impressive to say the least!
