Disappointed - my other Epson printers have been great

It might be a great printer if it ever worked. Best printer I ever had was the Epson Artisan 720. This Epson 960 was supposed to be a professional photo printer. But the paper jams and I keep getting Error codes. I have used Epson printers for more than 10 years. I also have an Epson 3420 -- which is a fine printer -- just not photo quality. Frustrated and annoyed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent printer.

I have had four Epson printers in the past and liked them all. The one thing I was very disappointed in is the tray for printing on CD/DVD's. The other older Epsons had a tray that made it easy. This 960 has a "plate" that is difficult to put in. And when I am doing ten copies at a time it makes the job much harder. I understand that on the old printers the convenient drawer type tray was more complicated and some people likely did not use it carefully and it then stopped working. But in all it was a much easier system to use.

It is the only printer that will print 11" x 17" photos. AND it does them very fast and great quality.

Great Photo Printing and Thrifty Use of Ink

I have had this printer for about nine months and love the photo quality of prints and also that it uses little ink. It's very thrifty. I also love the utility software for scanning photos and editing. Scanning is easy, too, once you get the hang of it. Haven't used the CD-DVD printing yet, but am looking forward to it. I have a design and am sure it will look good. It does a good job of printing letters, too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Surprisingly easy to use

I have had this for over a year and just unboxed it and set it up. I also have the artisan 810 and thought the xp960 seemed flimsier, but I was pleasantly surprised with it's performance and ease of use. The only problem I've encountered is a firmware update that I cannot figure out how to access. But all in all a nice printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It appears that a lot of people who need a good way to reproduce photos and drawings also want an all in one. I already have an Epson V600 scanner because I need to scan negatives.

I have a small (very small) business at home and can't consider sending out all my work. Somehow in the last few years there seems to be no more demand
for single function printers like the Artisan 50 that this machine replaces. It is nice that it can do larger work, but I never do anything larger than legal size.

About the only specification I had, other than high resolution photo capability was a six color ink palate. This, and the XP860 (which has a more elaborate
scanner it seems) are the only ones that might fit in my space. In the couple of test prints I have done, this seems to be a very good machine.

However- whoever designed the paper tray of this machine should have to work on the one I have here. This corner is not well lighted and there is just no way
to improve that- The paper tray is molded with a whole lot of very difficult to read paper alignment directions in dark grey. It would have cost more to fill the
letters with white- in fact a lot more. But molding it in silver or white would make it a lot easier to read.

Love Epson

And the Epson XP-960 does not dissapoint. I haven't had a chance to do all the things it's capable of but after many Epson printers, this printer is the top of the line for home use professional art images. Just love love this printer as I do all epson products.

So far it is proving to be a great little printer.
I needed to replace a more expensive printer that died with a lesser priced one but one that would do more than just print on plain paper.
I am an artist and print my own greeting cards showing my work. I needed a printer that would reproduce the colors of my paintings as close as possible. This printer does. In addition the scanning feature is a plus.
Very happy with my selection.
