XP-960 Dud

Scanner does not work; Dowloaded all software, attached via USB cord to computer; it simply will not recognize and scan. Printer works fine; prints photos fine. scanner will not open. Multiple tries of reinstalling software, carefully installing according to directions. Nada. Hate it.

When you put Doc's in the document feeder to copy, they come out blank.

Fast - But With a Few Glitches
on January 29, 2017

I haven't used the scanner yet but the color photo printer is quite speedy. The "glitches" started appearing shortly after printing a few images. The 4 X 6 prints, using the upper cassette, came out with short patterned scratches on one end. After a trying it a few times, I switched to the lower cassette and the 4 X 6's were fine. I then went bake to the upper cassette again and they were OK also. I then noticed random smudge marks (1 or 2 - about the size of a nickle). I haven't pursued that problem yet.

I have always liked Epson printers and have two others. I am sure this printer works fine but it will not stay connected to my phone, iPad, laptop or desktop. although it shows it had a good signal, it will not stay connected. Hate it!

more than i wanted but i have only had it three days

this is fancier than i wanted but advertisement doesn't tell you everything. the directions could be a bit more basic as in now, go here and do this, but after a while of staring i got it and everything works perfectly. i am just a bit scared that this will be more than i bargained for. the last one was a great printer, an artisan 703, so we'll see.

Meets/Exeeds Expectations

Got this last month (March 2017) to replace an aging R1800 Epson printer that I've used for making Wedding and other photos as well as day-to-day printing needs. Although I'm not doing weddings anymore I still wanted a printer capable of photo-quality prints. I was dubious at first that this is a bit of a step down from the professional level printing of R1800, but after a month and several dozen photos printed I am very pleased with the prints I've made with it. I would have preferred pigment-based ink jet prints but these dye-based inks have sufficient longevity for the purpose I'm using them for at this time. If I ever go back to professional photography again I'd want the extended lifespan of pigment inks, but for now I am very happy with the functionality of this printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed

I have probably owned this printer for about 3 years. It worked great up until a month ago when the paper started jamming on every print. If I want to print something I have to use the single feed in the back, which is annoying for large jobs. Also, can't seem to find anyone to service it in our area plus I'm sure it would cost just as much as buying another one.
