great printer

I love this printer. I had no problem with the set up or installation , I love the simplicity of the functions. I am not one who is tech savvy but I have no problem using this printer. I have not used the the function for printing to disk yet, but I am betting that it is just as simple.

Epson XP960 Printer, scanner and copier
on October 16, 2016

A great printer and scanner. Copy function is very slow, and copies are not as sharp as printed or scanned from the computer. User Manual is so brief, as to be nearly useless, and leaves most questions unanswered for the most part, except in very general terms.

Worthy replacement for Artisan 837
on October 20, 2016

Was having some repeated clogged printhead issues with my trusty Artisan 837 so bought this new XP-960.
No negatives, just positives... really like its slightly smaller foot print, CD/DVD tray works just fine, like its automated front panel and paper tray, and that its ink cartridges ride in the print carriage rather than stationary ink tanks with lots of tubing, as with my 837.
Very pleased!

XP-960
on August 30, 2017

I have owned two printers now in my lifetime, the 960, and a recently returned for recycling Epson Photo 870, which served me admirably for over 17 years. The 870, for what it was, was a solid, well built and dependable machine that while I don't print on a regular basis was always there for me when I needed it. Only the malfunction of its printhead caused me to look for an upgrade.
While the XP-960 is more than I need it seemed the logical choice, and while I am still in the early stages of ownership it appears to be functioning as advertised.
My only two concerns at this point are that:
1. The text printing for the paper I've been using is perhaps not as crisp as what I
experienced with the 870, but while I prefer to use what I have an upgrade in
stock may resolve the issue for those high quality occasions.
2. While a minor point perhaps, the XP-960 actually "sounds" not as solid as the
870 did. This may have no bearing on the performance and longevity of the
unit but it just sounds cheaper, and noisier and that could be off putting to
some folks. It's certainly something that caught my attention the first time I
powered it up and continues to raise an eyebrow whenever I print.
Over the coming months I look forward to exploring more of what the XP-960 can do for me and hope to be able to contribute more feedback to you folks on what I find. For now, it fulfills my needs for a printer and I look forward to seeing what it can do in terms of wireless and long distance printing.

Outstanding Printing of Photos
on October 3, 2017

I bought this to replace an Epson XP-620, since that printer was having streaking and clumping problems I could not clear up. This XP-960 is a dream printer. It set up very easily, wirelessly, and I've had no issues with it. It quality when printing photos is outstanding. There IS, however, one caveat - do NOT use off-brand photo paper! It smears and requires some serious head cleaning afterward. For everyday printing, it is quick, uses any paper, and it communicates with all our other computers (the "kid's", the wife's, and my bedroom laptop) easily. My one "complaint" is that I can;t scan with a 64-bit application. There either are no WIA drivers, or they do not work correctly. 32-bit apps use twain (which is depracated but still works), so that is sufficient for my uses. All in all, a great printer, even if it isn;t perfect.

Photo xp-960
on January 22, 2018

This printer replaces the photo XP 850 which I used for over 2 years. The set up was easy (wireless and USB connections). I need a printer that prints on CDs as well as on glossy paper. The photos I have printed on the 960 don't "pop" like the ones I printed on the 850 - hence the lower rating as it is supposed to be a photo printer. Both printers use the same Epson ink cartridges. Also, it is not as easy to print multiple CDs on this printer as on the 850. Although it has a large foot print that would hold legal size paper, only letter size pages can be scanned (no sheet feed and small glass). The 850 spoiled me and this printer does not seem to be an improvement over it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far....AWESOME!

I replaced a photo printer that I’d had for at least 10 years, different manufacturer. They stopped supporting it, as in the printer worked...but not without ink! A ploy to get me to buy another one of theirs...ha! I fooled them and bought the Epson “Small-in-one, All in one. I’m ecstatic with it. It’s easy to use and it’s intuitive! It’s quick and accurate. Does a beautiful job. I’ve yet to print 11x14 photos but I’ve got no reason to think that they will won’t turn out great. Very glad I switched.
