Design problems

This model has an ice maker that takes up way too much space--it must be an old design because other ice makers are much smaller. Also, the ice maker spits out some small chunks (not full cubes) that end up missing the glass and end up on the floor. A separate problem is the LED lighting. I was happy to read that this model had LED lighting because of lower heat, smaller size and more even lighting. This refrigerator has LED lighting that gives only the first of these features. The bulb covering is huge compared to the bulb size and takes up way too much space. And since there is only one bulb, the lower shelves are not lit. It looks like your engineers took the cheap and easy route and just replaced a conventional bulb with a single LED bulb. A feature was added with little thought to customer satisfaction. This model should be avoided until an updated model is available.

There are not enough shelves in the the freezer.

I bought this because GE was the most reliable for me but there is no meat keeper and the freezer needs another shelf

AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER !!!

If you like refrigerators that DO NOT reset after a power outage, this is the product for your.
Yes, believe it or not, this refrigerator DOES NOT automatically reset itself once power is restored. You have to MANUALLY push a button to turn it back on.
I purchased this model for a second home and imagine my surprise when I arrived after a on week absence. Yep, everything was spoiled and the freezer was loaded with water from all of the ice that had melted.
I have owned many different refrigerators in my lifetime and never had a model that didn't automatically turn back on when power was restored.
After multiple discussions with GE, they stated that this was a 'feature' and they would not take it back. They considered the situation 'buyer's remorse'. Really GE? Without a doubt, this is nothing short of a failure. Calling it a feature is shameful
This buyer does have remorse. I will NEVER, EVER purchase another product manufactured by GE.

Very Poor Quality

I bought looked at this fridge to replace a older Ge Profile artica refrigerator which was very well made. This fridge has cheap plastic every where. The old one had glass. Deli draw is missing from the fridge. I went from a decent fridge in the past to a budget fridge. When I think of ge a American company I think of pride and quality. This is a let down. Just like the vent got moved on the microwave to vent up makes no sense had to spend money to modify my cabinets.

Disappointing Up-dated Replacement

Had the previous version of the model for 16 years. So many disapointments with this expensive refrigerator that lacks space and drawer feature for lunchments, cheeses and deli items. Ice maker is hard to access. We had to have counter-depth in white and made a huge mistake in not being able to see / inspect a floor model of this refrigerator. Learn a hard lesson.

I had an older model of the fridge. It lasted 12 years. I had to buy the newer version due to space constraints. There isn't much I candy that I like about it. No meat drawer-and not even an option to purchase as an add-on. Items in second level from the top, that are stuck in way back,center-will freeze. Don't put your yogurt back there. The light on top, middle, is an obstruction, and you can only fit tall bottles/wine/etc. on the left or right of it.
My previous GE fridge was stainless and easier to clean than this one. In addition, the old one had grey handles, and the new ones are cheap stainless and pick up every fingerprint, making the handles difficult to keep clean.
Read other one star reviews, and you will get other examples why this fridge is not family friendly. If it just for a home for a single person or couple, then this may work in your home. But those with children and grandchildren, need to keep looking for a better option.

Light in the top and if your shelf is full, no light comes through to lower shelves. Only two drawers instead of the three that I was used to, and less shelves on the door. The freezer did not have the lean out shelves on the door and seems to hold less. otherwise I will get used to it and it is mine! The drink dispenser is also a little bit difficult to use. If I would have noticed all these features in the store I don’t know if I would have purchased it.
