DISSAPPOINTING PURCHASE

Positives
- Good sound for music, podcasts and phone calls
- Bluetooth connection works well
Negatives
- The maximum volume is too low for noisy situations like mowing the lawn.
- The magnetic holders for the earbuds are awful. They are on the underside of the headphones and constantly fall out.
- The Ambient Noise Cancellation (ANC) is non-existent.
- The body contoured fit is uncomfortable compared to the HBS 700 model.
- The on/off switch is poorly placed on the inside of the headset next to the neck.
- Side control switches are too flush to the body to feel easily.
- Its too expensive compared to previous models.
- Battery life is much lower than in previous models.
- It seems like a victory of design form over function.
My previous headset, the LG HBS 700, served me well for two years with heavy use. I thought this model would be even better but if I had it to do over again I would buy the LG HBS 700 or LG HBS 730 instead.
Pros: sound quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not their best product

I love these when I first got them, however that was short lived. The problem that a lot of people are having including myself is the mic cutting out after a few minutes. It does it sporadically and often. I can hear the people I'm talking to but the mic will cut out and I have to turn the bluetooth off then on again for it to work for a few minutes. I have already exchanged them and done a factory reset on my phone still having the same problem. Also tried with a different phone other than my galaxy note 2 with the same problem. If they can correct this issue I would love my blue tooth again.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Decent head set

Ok so I have had this HBS-800 head set for 2 months now and I have to say I'm on the fence with it. This is all in comparison to the earlier version HBS-700 that I had for 2+ years. I worn them out through heavy use at work & exercising at the Gym. As for the features they are great! Exceptional noise canceling just as good as the HBS-700, this was a must for my work due to all the loud background noise of electronics, high rev fans and background work. Battery life is not as good as the HBS-700 but is still ample for heavy daily use. Two days tops if used heavily they will die on day two usually late in the evening right about the time you go to the Gym so daily charging is needed. Sound quality is good but not superb, could use more bass re-verb for my taste. Again compared to the HBS-700 mids and highs are as good but just doesn't have the depth & fullness that the HBS-700 had even with the different EQ settings that it has. Comfort to ware, This is where they excel. They just wear better mostly because they are lighter and seem to not pull on your neck as much. They also have better cord clips to hold the ear bud wires in place. The design is a little smoother too. The only negative thing on the design I have is I find myself haggling with getting the ear piece back into the magnetic slot other than that its good. Ease of use is just as good too. Raised Big buttons allow your to correctly feel what is what once you get the placement areas down. Now that brings us to my last point of the Bluetooth. Not a problem to hook sync & re-sync to your device BUT the range is severely limited to the HBS-700. You get about 10ft, with my HBS-700 it was more like 35-40 ft through walls & out of sight. I like that because I could work in an entire area like the gym and have my phone set out of the way of everyone and everything else. Another issue I have found that when I put my phone in my back pocket (usually where i carry it as I am a man) it will frequently lose sync, I mean come on that's less than 24 inches apart. I never had link issues like that with the HBS-700.

Needs more work

This unit works alright for the most part, but I have frequent loss of connection with my iPhone 5. It will drop out in the middle of a call, and if your caller doesn't hang up on you, it will drop out again after it reconnects. I have had up to three loss of connections in the same phone call, before the other party just hangs up. Also, the little magnets that retain the ear buds when not in your ear, well, they don't retain them hardly at all. The slightest movement and they fall out and hang by the wire which can't be good for them in the long run. I think they need to do a little more development.
Pros: easy to use

Mutes itself during calls
on January 29, 2015

Bought in November and it worked OK on an iPhone for about 30 days. I switched to my android phone and began having problems. The microphone muted itself at the beginning or in the middle of calls. Sometimes could get it to work by switching off the headset or toggling phone to no-headset mode, and back on again. Talked with support who said they had never had this problem and asked me to send it back, which I did at my expense. They returned a replacement or repaired headset and I have had the same problem with it. I tried using it on another phone that is the same model as mine, and experienced the same problem. Headset is beyond my return period and is useless.

Great Headset
on June 16, 2014

I have an HTC DNA (Thank GOD I don't have an IPHONE), and this headset married right up to my phone, didn't squelch any of my notifications, and works like a charm. I highly recommend this head set to folks who have Android phones. It's an awesome headset.
