Love it!

Received one for Christmas, and am loving it! Got a few pics in and around my house, and love the detail, they show. I can see individual whiskers and hairs on the Cotton Tail I snapped the other day. Now just waiting for the temperature to get somewhere close to my age, so I can get out and take more pics. It's a beautiful town I live in, in a beautiful region!

Fantastic Starter Camera

I've had my T5 for almost a year now and it has allowed me to jump into the world of photography. This camera, although isn't the top of the line that Canon offers, definitely is great for anyone who wants an affordable DSLR to learn the basics of photography on!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was given this for my birthday and and a little bit disappointed that in all of the pictures I take at night the moon is bright WHITE. But overall great camera for beginners

Great Picture Quality, but some issues.

The picture quality is great, and can look professional if you know how to use the settings, but the video feature barely works. It takes a few seconds to actually start recording, and doesn't really record that great resolution. The flash can also be really annoying, and can only be disabled in the manual setting options (not really a problem for me, but it makes the macro preset kind of useless). The lens it comes with isn't the greatest, but is definitely adequate for beginners. The settings are great, and easy to use, and the screen is a decent resolution, with the option to use the screen as a viewfinder. I have personally never used it, but I guess it could be useful. The camera itself is very comfortable to hold, and feels sturdy. Overall a great product for the price, and is great for beginners or amateurs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The camera is really nice, but is sad that I can not fully use it because canon gives you a cd to instal the softwares and they do not seam to realize that 80% of the computers now come without CD room.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had it since May 5, 2016 I found the camera to be cheap in build quality, when I go us I hear the camera in focus beep then press the shutter button but nothing happens, take two to three times before I getvthevfocus and snap picture. The metering is usually over e posed. It is very difficult to understand the menu system. Overall a terrible camera

review of T5
on June 6, 2015

My previous camera was a Canon Power Shot. I needed to replace it because the background screen went dark, and Canon advised me they no longer support that camera. In its place, I selected the Canon T5. While the T5 does take nice photos, its zoom capacity with its regular lens is not as good as the old Powershot. Now I need to get a zoom lens to get the same photo quality as on my old camera. Also, my personal feeling is that the image stablizer was better on the Powershot (at times my hands get shaky, which is why I need a stablizer). If I needed to replace the T5, I would get a different model, or a different brand.
