Coming from a S5 this is both a downgrade & upgrade

i was previously using a Galaxy S5 & it was starting to lag with all the apps loaded, etc.
so i got a Galaxy S6, it was both good & bad (but mostly good)
As you may know the S5 was/is a water/dust resistant phone with a removable battery & expandable storage (main features i liked about it) but the S6 is not,
I like the new design on the S6, though it now feels like i should treat the phone with a lot more care (because of the glass back)
it is a great upgrade on terms of speed & new looks + the camera is one of the best i've seen on phones, i could have gotten a S7 (but I'll rather wait to see what samsung can deliver for the S8)
so i got a Galaxy S6, it was both good & bad (but mostly good)

Highly disappointed with Galaxy S6

I used to own an Iphone (for past more that years) but for better camera switched to Galaxy S6 and made a big mistake. I am a moderate phone user and thus neither have many apps installaed on my PC nor use it for gaming. Only my daughter plays on phone once in while.
The most used apps on the phones are camera, google maps, yahoo mail, facebook, whatsapp and phone offcourse
The phone was OK for the 1st year but from 2nd year onwardsAfter roughly 1 yr of usage the phone started misbehaving with following issues:
1. Phone will suddenly start overheating.
2. will start draining battery all of a sudden. Sometime from full charge to 0 takes not even 1hr even if the phone is kept idle (means wifi off, bluetooth off, no camera used, sync turned off, mobile data turned off).
3. Phone switches off all of a sudden during a call and will not power on. Googled and found out that by holding volume down key and power key for 7 secs can help restart the phone but that also doesn't work on my phone reliably. Sometime I need to do this 8-10 times to get the phone back to life.
Upon doing it seem to reinitialize but then hangs either on Samsung screen or Galaxy screen or sometime just doesn't power up.

Honestly speaking I am really fed up of this phone and disappointed with Samsung and will never buy Samsung phone again.

First real "flagship" phone, and I love it. The phone feel great in your hand and performs well. I haven't had any issue yet.

The only thing I think this phone is lacking on his battery life other than that this phone performs very well is very responsive and I have had no problems just keeping it charged is a job all the time
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable, Lightweight, performs fast and accurate to ask
Cons: the battery life is horrible

The camera is very good. The quality of speakers in HD voice is great. HD video calling is also great. The S health app is a great tool.

Great camera

I upgraded to this phone as I like a large screen, good speakers, a good camera and fast processor. I'm not a big internet browser with my phone. As a matter of fact I generally don't like the way sites set up on the phone. Print is VERY TINY and can take a long time to load. I HATE all the ads, the bloatware, and the Apps that download themselves like 'Peel Smart Remote'; what is that. For me this is an invasion of privacy! As for the phone, I wish it had a slot for additional memory. The phone is expensive.
Cons: expensive, downloads unwanted apps by itself, bloatware

How low we have fallen

So I loved my S4 and S5 then I went on to the S6. For the first month it was steady and decent then my battery life went off a cliff. 4 hours of battery life while barely using any apps? Completely unacceptable. Add that to the insult of not allowing expanded memory as in previous generations, this phone is awful. In some ways I wish it was a note 7 and would simply incinerate itself. Before you ask yes, I have gone back to Verizon. Yes, I am on my 2nd refurbished replacement and no none of them have been any better.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality, horrible battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
