After weeks of internet research, online reviews and forums, I narrowed my selection down to the Surface Book (Overpriced for 128g SSD and too bulky), Yoga900 (Almost as good as the Samsung, but flimsy, inferior screen , ugly bezels, too glossy, meh trackpad) and Samsung Spin.
The spin had no weaknesses, except for the shorter battery life...and the anti glare screen, brightness, thin bezels, build quality and smooth typing experience won me over. The trackpad is as good as the surface book and a mac. I cannot stress enough what a difference the bright and anti-glare screen make in an office environment under florescent lights.
I took away 1 star for value because a 512 SSD would have been ideal.
Kudos and thank you Samsung for making such a great laptop!

Best laptop I've ever owned

I actually stumbled upon this laptop at a resell store. I can't believe I found it. I was surprised at how fast everything loads. Also the screen is so beautiful. The sound is great. I use it for homework and watching Netflix. I also have been using the built in Sketchbook app and I love it. I also love how it turns into a tablet. It's very lightweight and sleek. It's just an all around beautiful design. I would recommend this notebook to anyone. The battery life is pretty short but that's understandable considering how much power it has. I'm not really mad about it.

A Great Thin Ultrabook

The fit and finish on this laptop are outstanding and the performance matches. This is the first laptop I've owned that boots on opening the lid. It took some getting used to but it is a great feature. The inclusion of three USB 3.0 ports instead of two was one of the selling points for me. I have not yet used the flipped-back tablet mode but it will be a plus when traveling. I watched a few YouTube reviews before making the purchase and the comments about the ease of use of the backlit keyboard are correct; very comfortable for typing. The touchpad is the smoothest that I have used. The sound from the speakers is remarkable for such a small laptop.
The only feature that I'm less than happy with is the card reader. This unit only offers a micro SD and not the standard SD.

The Best, No Joke

In recent years the years Samsung has quietly been perfecting its laptop design and craftsmanship and their latest laptop, the Notebook 9 Spin, is currently one of the absolute best mobile computers money can buy. I researched and tried several different machines before arriving at this one, which became love at first sight.
I wanted something that was fast, had a high-resolution screen, and had a premium build quality and the looks that come with it. A few other things came close, but in the end the Notebook 9 Spin is what won my dollar - by far. I could have gone for the more mainstream option, but after feeling the craftsmanship that went into this I wouldn't have gone with another choice.
This thing is fast. With a Core i7 onboard, it feels so quick, and will perform productivity tasks, media consumption, as well as content creation and gaming with ease.
The installation of Windows it comes with is surprisingly clean, and the software that Samsung adds, such as their proprietary settings and a remote-assistance app, really do add value. The latter app is great, and a surprise to have it included right out of the box. With a couple of clicks you are connected to a rep who can, if they need to, take control of your laptop in order to help you.
One thing that I would not compromise in is the screen quality. I wanted a qHD screen, but some of the ones I tried felt too low quality, with a too-cool screen and lackluster colors. When I saw the Notebook Spin's in action I was astounded by the richness of the colors and the exquisite sharpness.
I wanted my computer to look pretty, and the Spin is as good-looking as they come. While I do miss the interesting midnight-blue metal of the Ativbook line, along with some of their design elements, this one has its own unique styling that makes it stand out in a crowd.
It isn't completely without flaws, however. The battery life isn't all that great - the super hi-res screen needs to be powered, after all - and I encountered an issue where the bottom metal plate of the laptop heated to the point of it bending and making a clicking sound when the computer was held the wrong way. I've since exchanged it for another one and haven't had a problem with it. Also, a Windows 10 update disabled the auto-rotate for some reason, so I had to roll back to a previous version to fix it. I'm not sure if the problem has been taken care as of the time of writing, so I'd beware of updating Windows for now.
Overall, I cannot recommend this computer highly enough. It is one of the best on the market right now, and a serious contender for King.
P.S.: Samsung, please bring back some of the trackpad features that are MIA here: three-finger swipe back and forward is sorely missed!

Beautiful hybrid laptop with a gorgeous screen

This is my second Samsung PC - the first one is an R580, which still runs well on Windows 7 after six years. The Spin is very light, fast, and beautiful. It has all the ports I need except a toslink like the one on a Mac computer that would allow for digital audio output. The touch screen is absolutely first rate, the touch pad is very responsive, and the back-lit keyboard has just the right feel. So far, I believe I made the right choice with this computer.

Great Laptop

I bought this laptop and it is the best laptop I have ever had. I bought the another computer with similar specs before this one, but the touchpad on that one was absolutely horrible. The touchpad on the Samsung is great (very smooth, responsive). The screen is one of the best parts. I can definitely tell a difference between the QHD and FHD screens.

Great design, super light while packing much power. Processor i7 and SSD drive makes a powerful combination. Start time is almost immediate. Sleek super light design with literally no noise at all. Love the wifi + Bluetooth combo... the microSD slot is an excellent adding.
The Samsung support is excellent!!! Laptop includes the online support from Samsung... Got the chance to use it and was pleasantly surprised by the human one-to-one support I got.

This is by far the best laptop I have purchased for the money. It is extremely durable and very portable. It does not lack performance whatsoever. Easily beasts the MacBook Pro.
