I bought the Sony STR-DH130 after checking out 4 other different brand stereos in the same price range. The Sony was easier to use, had better sound, and much better AM-FM tuner than the others. The auto-shut-off feature is an added plus since I sometimes forget to turn the unit off when I am done using it.
I just received the amp/receiver and it was installed in 5 minutes. Very easy and no tools required. It is exactly the same width as my older VHS machine and close to the same color (black), so I assume it is standard Rack width. Controls are smooth! Volume is an RPM (Rotary Pulse Modulator) with no stepping feel to it...VERY NICE! Lots of inputs for CD, DVD, Tape, VCR, Video (sound), and Aux. Can't wait to see how the turntable works with it. I may need a small pre-amp. BOTTOM LINE: it is top-Sony-quality!
Works great: This is second unit to use in workshop. E-Z hook up / remote control nice feature to have so I can change stations without getting up & mute when phone rings.
I bought this receiver to replace an old I brought back in 1978. It was easy to set up, I like the remore control. It looks good and has good sound. The price was exceptional.
Had to replace an old unit, the dh130 fit into the space and sounds great also has more connections for accessories, remote control works great and is convient.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed

While shopping for this receiver i specifically asked the sony sales person whether this receiver could decode and receive digital HD radio. He passed the question to tech support who confirmed it would. On receipt I found it does not. since I had an old HD converter (I wanted to get rid of the extra device) I kept the receiver. It does what it it does but I was misinformed by the tech and sales support. I should have returned it - my bad.
