LOVE MY ROKU STREAMING STICK & REMOTE.

Didn't know what Roku was till i bought a roku ready tv & a roku streaming stick with remote & im hooked.. The best thing i ever bought the roku. im disabled so i watch alot of tv,movies,etc. & now i dont know how i ever lived with out my roku pluged into my tv. Dont take my word for it,go out & get yourself what ever roku u like, i have roku streaming stick w/ remote & play angry birds or other games & also watch every movie u can & have the best fun & i bet youll never put the remote down. love it.. Thanks ROKU <3

For what it is (streaming device), it's great! It supports all the current services such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Crunchyroll, Funimation, VUDU, etc... in one device. Not so great if you're relying on it's local file playback ability.
It isn't overly fast, as there is a little lag time between clicks on the remote, and the response on the screen, but it isn't too bad. The remote is an RF remote, so line of sight isn't needed which is great!
During initial setup I did encounter a very odd problem. The device crawled doing simple navigation. It would take about 45 seconds to a minute to move between tiles. This was resolved by unplugging the power, and rebooting the device. Since then, I haven't encountered this problem again.
The above leads to another contention point. The device cannot be turned off without unplugging it (unless it's powered via USB, then shutting down the device driving that power will shut down the Roku). My receiver doesn't have a rear facing USB thus I must use the wall outlet, and I cannot easily shut the device down. I personally don't like devices which stay powered on all the time, but this would be less of an issue if there was a way via software to reboot the device in case of the problem I described above.
Setting up an account required a credit card which I didn't care to give, because the services I intend to use I've paid for elsewhere already, and I don't need yet another company keeping my personal data. I was able to contact support to have them create an account without a credit card, but I'm disappointed this isn't available to the user outright.
Lastly, my particular stick doesn't seem to make a good connection with my receiver's HDMI ports. The weight of the stick combined with the power cable causes it to pull downward breaking the connection to the receiver. At first I thought the device didn't work with my receiver, but I discovered I just needed to pull it upward to establish a connection. I've wrapped the power cable around a small picture above the receiver which I've pulled forward causing the device itself to stay in the upward position. Not ideal, but it keeps the connection. I'd like to try the USB dongle support is sending those who need it, but I haven't contacted them yet.

So happy I bought this. Great device. I am 64 yrs old and wasn't sure of getting something like this for fear of not knowing how to set it up. But it was unbelievably easy and fun!!!

Great Streaming Stick

I'm a big fan of Roku, and this was the third Roku device I've purchased. Like the others, it has a gazillion (give or take one or two) channels to choose from, but it has the advantage in price and size. We have ours plugged into a small space where the larger Roku "boxes" would have been obtrusive. If you have room for a Roku 3 or 4, I recommend those for their other features, but the stick is still great for the reasons I mentioned.

It is no better or worse than any other ROKU I have purchased. I currently have 3 up and running no complaints with any of them. What I do have an issue with is the M-GO payment sign up that ROKU is trying to force on everyone. ROKU does not need payment information. If I decide I want to us M-GO then I will sign-up. But I have multiple other choices. So rearrange your website and put the M-GO signup in its place.

Bought my first roku a year ago. Grandkids love when they visit. Lightening took mine out. Couldn't be without it so I bought 2, and 2 tvs so everyone can watch what they want. Have talked 2 other families into having because I like the Roku experience so much. Son in law tried another streaming device. Returned it for a Roku.

Bought the Apex 32' LED TV with Roku streaming stick and I love it. Very easy to install. I have a smart TV and smart Blu-ray that were way more complicated to install. Highly recommend this device. The choices of program are good much like my other smart devices.

I decided to ditch cable and get a Roku. I love my Roku streaming stick!!! Just make sure your tv is set up for the streaming stick. Mine said it was and it was super simple to install and set up. I love my Roku so much that I'm getting a Roku 1 for my kitchen tv! There is definitely no need to spend the extra $20 for the remote - the remote that comes with the tv works perfectly!!!! I highly recommend Amazon Prime with it.
