I lov the gear for what it can be but the 1 things I can't understand is why did they make a gaming system but they discontinued the Samsung gamepad for it and they didn't replace it with another Samsung drop the ball that mishap I hope they resolve the issue and come up with a new game pad

Need a controller (most of the games need a controller it would be great if I could hook up my Xbox controller.)

Have had the note 4 version and still do,this version has a few small redesigned features that make a difference, what a neat way to spend some time enjoying games and video.
Pros: Inexpensive, accepts more phones

Practically giving it away for its value. You can charge while using it.

Cons: a cloth storage bag would have been nice

This is by far the cheapest, best way to get into VR. I was expecting amazing, but I am simply blown away with the Gear VR! Every time I put it on I am sooooo impressed. If you have the phone for it, mine is the S6, I highly recommend you get this!
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: only con would be the lens fogging.

This vr headset is awesome. I love the feature to watch movies in a movie theater setting. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who enjoys an entertainment experience

I use this with my S6, and it is so cool. The reactions from family and friends has been priceless. I think I've tried out all the main features with only minimal issues.
First thing...beware if you have a screen protector. Due to my own negligence, my screen protector is cracked. The way in which you secure your phone, there is a clip that holds the phone into place. When looking at it, to see how it works before putting my phone in for the first time, I thought to myself "This could go bad". First couple times in and out I was very careful...got into a hurry, and the phone didn't sit correctly. Sure enough...dang. I don't blame the Gear VR, as I saw it happening, just gotta be careful.
While watching 360° videos, it seems that I have found the limit of the phones software. I was watching a Blue Angles video (8.5 min long) with no issue. My daughter wanted to see it, about the 30 sec mark on the 2nd viewing...it stopped because it had to cool down. The phone was toasty...cooled it down, and continued on with no issue.
Watching a Netflix video went on with absolutely no issue. Watched for about 2 hours straight, the phone was about the same temp as if I was watching the regular app videos. Very impressive...I almost can't even watch my regular TV, now. LOL. On the Netflix app, the screen appears to be, maybe about a 100" screen that you are sitting in front of. Very nice.
As far as watching movies...just picture yourself in a theatre...basically the same.
Highly recommend using a pair of ear buds. No issue with the phone sound...but to get the whole immersion feeling, it's a must.
Games, Web browser, pictures, videos (YouTube, etc), haven't had an issue yet.
Overall, 100% impressed. Can't wait to see how they improve VR.
