Does what it's supposed to but longevity suspect

I bought this model because at least the stainless surround facing from my previous ones worked well enough I didn't have to buy the overpriced current one- although I did have to fabricate a base to secure it as a built-in as GE changed the bottom enough so the old bracket/support wouldn't work. After having this model's predecessors die after three or four years each I would not have otherwise gotten another one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my second microwave of this type. It heats and cooks well. Easy navigation of the buttons. The door could be quieter but overall excellent microwave.

Purchased this as a replacement for a similar GE model that finally died after 12 years of frequent use. Only issue was that the dimensions had changed ever so slightly which made installation via the existing trim kit a challenge. Otherwise it's working well - particularly given its low/reasonable price.

We bought this two months ago, used it often and we've found no issues.
The features work really well. That is, beverage heats beverages to a nice high temperature. Reheat, re-heats food well. Potato bakes them well.

Our older microwave finally quit, was not repairable (economically) so we bought the GE 1200 watt unit. It is easy and convenient to use. The hardest part for us is getting used to the 1200 watts, as compared to the older 700 watt unit we had. We would recommend this unit to all who need a new, easy to use, powerful unit.
