GE has gone cheap with some details.

it replaced a 1000 watt microwave. first problem is where is a owners book/manual. duh. i like that it is white inside with a nice light. and its a little larger inside. the one thing i don't like is no back lit keypad. all i read about is oh its too expensive to add it. i say bull. another problem you can't set it for less than 30 seconds. and you have to use the timer to manually use the power level. the buttons are smaller than my other ovens. and are arranged in a way that's confusing to me. compared to other microwaves. i also don't like the alert shut off. it stops the reminder and the keypad sound. i rather have the keypad sound without the alert. i also noticed the amps it draws seem a little high compared to my old 1500 watt oven. beings i'm a mechanical / electrical tech the big problem is there are no stickers on the microwave showing the voltage / amps model, serial, etc. and i had to go online just to find it. there was no operators manual with all the spec information. it appears GE has gone cheap with the little details i pointed out. otherwise it works. and that's about it. its nothing to brag about. and i don't need preset buttons for popcorn, soup, whatever. my motto is don't reinvent the wheel and just keep it simple.

Seems to be made very cheaply, not like our old one. I would pay a little more for better quality and I'm sure so would many other people

So far it seems to be working fine. It does seem to be cheaply made, unlike our old GE which is 10 years old and still works great. We upgraded all of our appliances.
