Was a very good microwave until yesterday started smelling like burning plastic when using. Wouldn't expect this to happen only after 16 months. I've had much better success with GE products in the past.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What I really like is the reheat option, no guessing how much time, the reheat has a sensor and your food comes out perfect heated through.

Turntable vibrating while turning making noise

Has been excellent until 11th month in use daily. Turntable started vibrating and making a loud noise. Still works, but is worrisome that something is wrong with turntable motor? Calling GE now.

This is my second GE Profile countertop microwave

I bought this same model in 2011 and it lasted 9 years with everyday use. When it finally died and was out of warranty I didn't even consider another brand. For the price it is the best deal. Very dependable. Easy to use. Large enough accomodate everything I want to cook.
