Loud noise when turned on!!

This is the second microwave of this model I have purchased. The first one lasted about 5 years and started to have a fan noise get louder. I like this model so I ordered another... This one started out with a much louder noise right out of the box. I have another on order but they are backordered. I'm hoping the next one will be OK.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi DPF24! We appreciate your review. We're sorry that your new microwave is making a loud noise right out of the box. We see how this can be frustrating. A dull thumping sound while oven is operating and a fan noise while it's operating and shortly after is normal. If the unit is making noises other than this, we recommend scheduling a service appointment. A service appointment would be covered under the one year warranty of the unit. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737, Mon-Fri 7 am – 10 pm ET, Sat-Sun 8 am – 6 pm ET.

My old microwave died on evening. going through the different types of microwaves, found they had the exact microwave still available. No reason to look any further. ordered on line and picked up the next day

I absolutely LOVE the features of this microwave! It defrosts excellently without cooking the food, I love the fact that it has a timer that can be used even when the microwave is cooking something else. Overall it is the best ever in my book!

We had to replace our 20 year old GE microwave, looked for one with similar wattage, features, etc. So far this one is great !! Would give it 5 stars, but haven't had it long enough to see how it compares ....
