lots of room and beeper mute.

This has much more room and features than my last unit. I especially love the beeper mute feature, my old one drove me nuts with the beeper. Very pleased with it so far.

This is a replacement for the same model that was purchased in 2009. Our previous model hadn't died but was starting to make painful noises so we decided 12 years was a good run. The newer version has a different casing than the older. This one doesn't seem as sturdy but it still feels strong and I'm happy with the new shine. I can see the improvements that have been made although the panel is the same, which I love, the cook times and pre-settings actually work better than this microwaves predecessor. I still have to watch the reheat setting, usually when it starts to count down my food is plenty reheated so I have to get it out before the count down gets to far but I'm used to that after all these years of the same thing with the older version. It is nice when I want to reheat more than the recommended serving as I can let the count down go and get an even reheat on last nights leftover casserole without playing guessing games.
I would recommend this to a friend!

heats items a lot faster

The new GE microwave heats the food much faster than the old GE microwave that stopped working after 14 years

No more excrutiating noise

This is a great microwave, but my absolute favorite thing is that it has a mute button for the beeping noises! It's deliciously quiet, and I love it!
