I purchased this exact product 11 yrs ago. It has been a great micro so when it stopped working, I found one just like it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very noisy

All works well; nice looking unit. But this thing is really noisy. It is level and all legs are on the counter.

Basic microwave. Nothing specular, nothing horrible. It is quite big for a small countertop. Keep that in mind. I would get again if needed.

This was a replacement for an older model. The beeping sound sounds abnormal and some words are not spelled correctly

The variable beeper volume allows you to change the sound level of the beeper or even turn it off. In order to operate it, touch the SOUND LEVEL pad and then 0, 1, 2, or 3 and "Start" pad.

Functionally a Good Product, But

The GE microwave I purchased is easy to use and functionally satisfies all of my needs. The one problem I have with this microwave is the assembly workmanship. Frequently when using the microwave there is loud vibration noise coming from the device. It is very annoying. I tightened up the screws that I could access on the rear of the microwave, and this had no impact. If grasp the back of the microwave between the top and the rear panel, the vibration noise stops, obviously, I am not going to do this every time I use the microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE makes their microwave with me in mind. My older model of this exact microwave finally died after 17 years and no matter what I looked at - nothing is still better so I bought the current reincarnation. Love it.
