Purchased as a replacement for for the same GE 2cu ft microwave that was 8 years old. The unit has the size and ease of use the family is acustomed to having available. Easy to clean and looks great. Only wished the old one lasted forever.
I would recommend this to a friend!

2.0 CuFt Capacity of Microwave Heaven

I was looking to replace a 1.8 CuFt GE Microwave that I had had for almost 11 years when I stumbled upon this updated model. The salesman tried to get me to "upgrade" to a microwave with convection baking and/or an air fry capability (both of which I already have in my built-in oven), but I wanted a microwave...plain and simple. This new updated version fits into the same cabinet cutout as the older "smaller" capacity model that it was replacing and has a 2.0 CuFt capacity and a 16" internal plate! One touch selections for most of my cooking/reheat needs. Very quiet in operation. If you need a microwave for other than microwaving, look else ware. If you need a reliable intuitive and ultra capable microwave, this is the unit for you!

the top gets hot after 9:00 minutes of use. I would be afraid to use it for any longer than 9:00 minutes.

Has nice features but gets hot

Gets hot on top after 9 minutes of running. Would be afraid to cook anything longer. This can't be normal.

It is actually normal for the surrounding exterior to get hot during use. The heat that is generated outward from the food being cooked, the oven interior lamp and the magnetron tube will also contribute to external heat transfer.
