Hardware Failures
on October 4, 2017

I bought my first 7610 in December, 2013. I have had three replacements due to hardware failures. I love the features, especially the large print capability. Read the owner's guide for problem solving before buying. White lines and not printing black ink have been my issue. I am so disappointed, as this printer has performed flawlessly between hardware failures. Epson sends refurbished replacements and will no longer send replacements as the original product is out of warranty. The first replacement was within warranty, and all following replacements have been the same. This is my second refurbished printer this year (2017).

A lot of hardware problems...

I purchased this printer in the end of 2014. In May 2015 I got error code 0x9D and printer didn't work at all (hardware issue). Was fixed by Epson but took quite some time.
In the end of 2016 I got another problem: printer endlessly rebooted without reason.
Was fixed by Firmware rollback.
Now it again doesn't work. This time I get error code 0x97. Which is hardware fatal error. Since guaranty period is out I have to pay for the repair this time! But I doubt I'll do this... Better to buy something more reliable.
Taking into account that I almost didn't use the printer (probably printed one page in a week) and changed cartridge only once (using original Epson) the quality of this device is very bad. And I wouldn't recommend it.

Buy the protection plan!

Like clockwork, the Epson units fail within 6 months to 2 years - ALWAYS buy the extra protection plans so you do not have to pay full price for your next one, which you WILL be getting.

Met All Expectations

I purchased this printer primarily for large format printing. When trying to print card stock on one of my other printers, I had difficulty with the printer feeding the card stock into the printer, but when it tried it in this Epson, it feed through without any issues. The rear manual feeder works great for unusually thick paper as well.

It does not seem obvious how to load large size paper (11 x 17)

A great, versatile AIO printer BUT....

I have been using an Epson 7610 for past 2 years regularly. The scanner works very well and until recently, the printing was very good. Mechanically, the auto-duplexer works great for double-sided documents, even on 11"x17" paper, and photo quality, until recently was very good for a 4-color office printer. Unfortunately, and as expected, the printhead finally stopped printing well, even with fairly regular use and only having used Epson brand ink. Multiple cleaning cycles over several days only wasted a lot of ink.. so rather than buy a new printhead, I just bought a 7720, which seems to be an updated 7620. Recommended only if you buy it new , use it at least weekly and don't mind the cost of inks and eventual replacement.

Ok but has problems

The printer is intended for high use. I only print a few pages a month. As a result the print heads get clogged and print quality is pretty low. Unless you have a high use don't bother with this one.

I used to think that Epson was THE best

I still do as far as colorwork goes, but my printer has started printing all my pages on about a 10 degree slant. This, I do not like.I saw nothing about a way to correct this in the manual. Pehaps I just don't know what to call it.
